Post Match Vs Cardiff

I just hope that he doesn't use the fact that three at the back helped us out at the end of the game as some kind of temptation to go back to three at the back for City.

Frankly, with City playing Negredo and Dzeko together up front, I could see an argument for it. Hopefully, though, we can cope without changing the system. Maybe Lucas can drop deeper if needed. I really like the midfield the way it's currently set up and hope we can build on that.

good performance overall for the win. Skrtel's shirt pulling in the box could be costly on any other day.

*hands up* I predicted max 6 points for 5 games. Already achieved. Now maybe we get 9 points and maybe we avoid suicidal thoughts for December. ..

Although we were 2 up for the last 20 minutes, it was still quite tense.

That said on another day we would have had a couple more, creating lots of chances.

Good win...

If dunno we all go the match and the modding here goes to shit lol..

Great first half.

Sterling had a good game. .

Credit to Cardiff they gave us a bit of a game in the 2nd half..

Johnson was shit..

Suarez didn't have the best game but scored 2 and set up 1..

We are so lucky to have him...

Anyway drinkies here we go. .

Credit to @ILD immense work on stirring out all the tickets.. Even @FoxForceFive got to the game

just for completeness

Okay so Skrtel and Kelly marked the same guy leading to Sakho having to mark two. Poor organization all round there.

That's a horrendous goal to concede.

Sakho was left completely exposed. I reckon it was Kelly's fault or Sterling - but someone should have Ben helping Sakho.

Maybe we took the foot of the gas on purpose? As we're playing City and Chelsea next.

Didnt see the match but just saw the goals. That set piece goal from Mutch was horrendous.
What the fuck is up with the marking?
Cant do that in the future!

Weirdly we are still not that clinical as a team. We just create a lot of chances at the moment and Suarez keeps scoring ridiculous goals in every game. A fair few need to work on their shooting / finishing (I'm looking at you Coutinho).

I've been supportive of Johnson over the years but he's looking poor at the moment and it's pretty annoying. Needs to up his game.

Everyone seems to want to wrap Flannagan up and take him home for Xmas at the moment and whilst I'm both surprised and really happy with his positive spell he's showing a rather worrying trend of getting taken to the cleaners by wingers that will run at him. Needs work and more help from his team-mates. We also need a LB in Jan.

Another good innings from the midfield though not quite at the level against Spurs. Will need to up their game again when we face City.

Sterling is looking great at the moment. Really pleased with him and hope he can continue in this vein. Seems to have good rapport with Suarez too.

And that brings us to the man himself. Wow. Can't really say much more than that. Wow.

I thought he was pretty solid apart from his handling of Noone (their best player mind) on a few occasions. Unlucky not to score again and has indeed surprised me with his generel level of performances of late - played out of position even.

Thought the two CB's were decent, I do wonder however if Sakho is as beasty in the air as on the floor? Looks to lose more headers already than I would've thought. Very good in most other aspects it seems.

And there's something wrong overall with the way we are set up to defend set pieces. Like against Everton our two CB's where everywhere else to be found than in central on a few occasions, dragged far away because of their man-marking.

And why was Kelly so far from his position at the goal? We looked clueless at times and I mostly blame the manager. Something is not working.

Otherwise another splendid win, and another stellar show from the magician.

Coutinho needs to stop shooting from far out so much

Allen has turned into Henderson in shitting himself when he gets near the box

Agree with all of that really. Good post.

Although Johnson had another average game in the first half his overlapping with Stirling was excellent and most of the play came on that side. Our play looked much less effective when he swapped in the second half with Flanno. And Kelly didn't give us as much in attack when he came on. Where was he for the goal by the way? Our defence of free kicks and corners leaves a lot to be desired. 3-1 top of the league and we hit the post 3 times again!!

Hahahahahahahaha.
I blame the manager.
In other words I'm sulking because my boyfriend isn't playing.

Sorry man, I think our CB's did well. The reason that they were dragged away from their positions is because our fullbacks weren't that good today.
