Hmm, we only have 3 first choice CMs and if we need someone to cover as a holding midfielder it'd be Plessis ahead of Spearing. Don't see we can take the chance unless someone else is coming in.

Please Cardiff, take this donkey off our hands. Good lads.

*waits for the "he was great against Arsenal" post*

Paddy's right. Let's loan him and Spearing out.

Then if Alonso is sold, we have to hope none of the Lucas/Mascherano/Gerrard combo is ever hurt b/c otherwise, we'll be with no 'central midfielder' to cover ...

*waits for the "but we can play Agger in CM" post*

Spearing will get his chance this year and should have had more games last season.

i think he will too sir.

Hopefully he is sold before Wednesday so i don't have to see him strolling around against St Gallen taking forever to adjust his body shape just to play simple 5 yard passes. Wank footballer.

If Alonso is sold we would buy a midfield replacement.

Nevermind Agger, Rafa would play Aurelio in there if he needed to.

If Cardiff want Plessis, and Rafa has made up his mind about no more big money signings arriving at Anfield, then IMO we should offer something like £3.5m + Plessis and El Zhar on a season-long loan for Ross McCormack. He and Naughton (Sheff Utd) were the two players last season who looked as if they could make the step up to the EPL.

IMO McCormack could become a huge star and it would be worth the risk if we aren't planning any other attacking options. He is ideally suited to the Dalglish role i.e. playing just off Nando. He is very quick-thinking, a great finisher and he links the play very well.
