So we've had two stories in the past few days of LFC players working hard to get on the pitch in spite of injury. We had the Lallana story, with his lack of training all week as the medical staff tried to get him fit, and then Klopp praising Hendo's attitude for giving his all despite injury (see below).

Are these more public hints to a certain perm-crocked LFC striker?

Jürgen Klopp has highlighted the role Jordan Henderson played in Liverpool’s comeback against Norwich City on Saturday and admitted: ‘I love his attitude!’

The No.14 got his name on the scoresheet to reduce the deficit at Carrow Road, netting just moments after the Canaries had extended their advantage to 3-1 early in the second half.
The timing of that goal proved decisive in enabling the Reds to go on and record a 5-4 victory – and ahead of this evening’s Capital One Cup semi-final, second-leg clash with Stoke City, Klopp was full of praise for his skipper.
He told Liverpoolfc.com: “There's no doubt about the importance of Hendo. He's a brilliant player, I like his style.
“A player like Hendo needs physical fitness, of course he's not at 100 per cent but his mentality helps him and us to keep on working with him because I think a lot of players in the football world would have struggled with the [injury] problems he's had.
“But he's a really fighter and it's very important for us and for the team that he wants to be available for us. Always with everything he can do, he's available. For him it's the early part of the season because he had a long break with his heel injury.
“He's a perfect professional football player and I love his attitude, that's really great for us.
“And in that game especially, the goal was in a moment when I think Norwich were celebrating in their minds [immediately after scoring]. We didn't play too well in this moment and it seemed to be very easy to beat us, but then he woke up everybody with his goal.
“It was not only the goal, it was the cross of Clyney, the pass from Roberto and in the end it was a really brilliant finish.”

I read a tweet last night that claimed Sturridge was refusing to play because Jesus had told him not to.
I lolled and then cried a little when I realised that we have got to the point where this rumour has earned a low level of credibility

I think any manager would say something similar about Hendo, or any player who plays like he does. Klopp can't avoid saying positive stuff because Studge might be offended by it. It would be like a manager avoiding praising Gerrard's attitude because Kewell might take it personally.

Impossible to tell really, because these are things which IMO would have been said even without the Sturridge situation bubbling under.

Let's hope he takes them to heart anyway.

Sturridge strikes me as somebody who doesnt give a fuck in that regard, he decides when hes fit and no amount of thinly veiled hints in the press is going to convince him otherwise

Yeah but in fairness to Sturridge if it were up to him he would have been back playing by now.

I completely agree he can't avoid saying positive stuff, and quite frankly, I'm sure he feels Studge can fuck himself if he takes offence.

So where is Sturridge? Hasn't it been 10 days already since he supposedly started training?

I think the journalists are afraid of asking Klopp about him after his testy responses the last few times around.

He had trained for 4 days when Klopp did the presser for the Norwich game.
Might make the bench for WH or Leicester if everything is okay.

I've had the privilege of watching some of Liverpool's greatest ever players as a kid including Kenny, Souness, Jocky, Lawro, Rushie etc. They all played with injuries and hangovers but still found a way to win.

No matter what ability Sturridge has, the time may well have arrived for him to fuck off.
