Plan B

There is no Plan B, we loaned that out to West Ham..

Desperate times call for desperate measures..

Other than that watch Tranmere, they are flying this season..

Has he got one? And i don't mean Carroll, I mean in general, it's 433 or bust.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure the manager is on record as saying he doesn't have a Plan B. It's just not his philosophy, or something.

I think he's got a plan B - he just doesn't have the personnel to put into practice.

I'm happy to see plan A persevered with at this stage rather than seeing the players resort to Plan B to easily. That said, missing out on someone/anyone on the final day is just incomprehensible.

Indeed:

Everyone at Anfield has been impressed by the eloquent cut of Rodgers’ jib. Tactically, he says he has a plan A and “if plan A doesn’t work, plan B is to make a change to make plan A more effective”.

Yeah, we should work on getting plan A working first, before we're up to the standard where we can look at a plan B.

It's a brilliant conceit. Every time something's gone wrong for previous managers, fans have wailed 'he's not got a plan b,' and managers have said nothing. Rodgers has come out and said he has no plan b. It's brilliant. I'm surprised he hasn't added, 'Oh, and by the way: I don't know what I'm doing, I don't know what I'm doing...' That ought to inspire broad buttocked experts everywhere to hail him as a genius. Get your chalkboards out and rejoice!

If we don't start getting some results there's a big risk the players start losing faith and confidence...and if that happens we're a sinking ship.

We have no plan b. We need to score the first goal.

Give us an option from the bench other than Downing.. Oh and score a goal or two...
Really.
You do know that the Owen we're getting is not this guy:

Before we think about Plan B we need to make sure there is a Plan A.

Rodgers desperately needs to find a balance between attack and defence in the midfield because mistakes at the back are killing us at a time when we can't score goals. You can just see everyones head drops when we concede and I bet that, like us the fans, they're thinking "fuck's sake, not again". Give us a solid foundation to build on and then work on the attack.

I salute their indefatigability. The braver they get at the back, the more stupid mistakes they can make.

I'm awaiting someone to point out that your talking about the third best defence in the league last year Keni. Defence isn't a problem apparently.

i must admit , i really don't like 4-3-3 , well certainly not the way we play it or with the players we have to use in that formation . Barcelona are obviously the benchmark for it and of course it's hard to compare against them as they have some of the best players in the modern era but you can look at the type of players they use .

In their midfield three , they've one defensive player and two midfielders who get forward well and chip in with lots of assists and a decent amount of goals. The forward three then all score a bagful and create even more .And of course the full backs play like wingers .

We don't seem to have those type of players at all . For all the so called nice play and passing , most so far this season has been in our own half and none in the final third where it really matters. We seemed to be really slow in getting people forward and so often it seemed players in the forward positions were finding themselves miles from any support .

I don't know , the hope is it will improve as the season goes on but like i said i fear we don't have the personnel to make it work .

Part of me is wondering if we wouldn't have been better off keeping Carroll and just playing direct , long and diagonal balls like most the premiership do .

Stats. That's what it's all about. STATS. How much possession did they have?? There's a trophy in it.

We are a team in transition, introducing a new style of play and several new players. Also Arsenal are not exactly the worst team in the league. Amazing how quick the knives come out.
