PL Opposition Tidbits

Høilund
Rashford, Bruno, Mount
Eriksen - Mc Water carrier/Casi-no-moro
Shaw - x - x Dalot

Should be all right going forward, but Ten Gag keeps fucking up.
The defense is shit, as is central midfield.

nice that they have 3 players around 30 expecting to start in their midfield, keeps the churn and outlay going

Just heard a funny stat on a podcast
"Brentford have won more PL games at Stamfordbridge this year than Chelsea."

It’s almost as if everyone who’s managed Man Utd since Ferguson fucked off actually hates the club and has made it their mission to fuck them up.

It’s like taking them over in Football Manager, selling all their best players for peanuts, buying the biggest heap of vastly overpriced shite you can find and then watching the carnage.

Well Ten Hag, you legend.

Has there been any decent managers from Ajax boot room whom have transitioned to other clubs to any success since Van Gaal?

Making Fernandes captain was such a lovely massive mistake that you just have to laugh.

One thing which their ongoing struggles demonstrate in glorious Technicolor is the importance of doing your due diligence on the kind of individuals, off the field as well as on, whom you're trying to sign. Ten Hag is struggling to get them going this season, but IMO that has as much to do with the fact that (partly though not totally through his own fault) they've signed a barrelload of wasters as it does with his own shortcomings.

Agent Benitez would be outstanding.
As if said before, there’s loads on Redcafe that think Ole should get another go. That’d be awesome,

Most often mentioned are Ancelotti, Zinadine Zidane and the Brighton guy

But but but it's all the glazers fault

Yeah, it's their personal fault that they've backed successive managers with big transfer kitties and netted:

1. Paul Pogba - £94.5m (from Juventus, 2016)
2. Antony - £86m (from Ajax, 2022)
3. Harry Maguire - £80m (from Leicester City, 2019)
4. Jadon Sancho - £76.5m (from Borussia Dortmund, 2021)
5. Romelu Lukaku - £76.2m (from Everton, 2017)
6. Angel Di Maria - £67.5m (from Real Madrid, 2014)
7. Rasmus Hojlund - £64m (from Atalanta, 2023)
8. Mason Mount - £60m (from Chelsea, 2023)
9. Casemiro - £60m (from Real Madrid, 2022)
10. Bruno Fernandes - £56.7m (Sporting Lisbon, 2020)

If you believe the inter web they are on the hook to pay Sancho £13m/year and Antony i£10m/year for the next 4 years, Casemiro £18m/year for the next 3 years. Mount is allegedly getting £13m/year for 5 years

Edit - Jesus! Onana is getting £6m/year (again for 5 years). They'll never shift them!!!

Did they really pay £60m for Casemiro?????

I thought it was like £20m or something!!!

That’s the sort of transfer activity that might even convince Bluebell to tone down his desire to sign ever player in existence.

Well it is kinda the Glazers fault. It’s the owners have to pick the right people and get the right structures in place and they seem to keep getting it wrong.

They definitely share a large part of the blame - but they’re not really doing anything differently than when they had Ferguson still winning things.

Point being - replacing them doesn’t fix the problem. They need an entire change to their footballing operation, their coaching staff and their playing staff. In fact changing ownership is probably the least necessary - with the caveat being that the owners must be willing to make the changes in ALL other areas - simply changing managers and buying more shite players while retaining the old shite won’t work.
