...is still shite. Megashite.

I've been to Stuttgart this weekend to watch them vs Hoffenheim.

The match itself wasn't very good but for me there was one player standing out - in terms of shiteness. Our very own Philipp Degen.

Christ, you should have heard the crowd yelling at him. Nasty.

There's no way they'll sign him permanently.

I was actually hoping from your post that he might have been murdered by a Cylon and that we'd be able to collect on his insurance.

The good news is that we only have to pay his wages until 2012.

He's a fucking Clown, and is yet another example of a footballer who went under-researched by Rafael Benitez.

It's embarrassing dross like this was ever associated with our club. He made Josemi look like Paolo Maldini.

You'd have to give his agent credit for pocketing him a reported 2m signing on fee, too. :-[

Yeah, and yet (as with Voronin) we all knew he'd be shit based on a few youtube videos and comments from German football fans on other websites. The club should employ 6CM to do their player research.

The rumour was 2M signing on fee and 40K a week wages I think. But then, I'm sure the same was assumed for Voronin as well, right?

Dunno.

"His strength is going forward," Reds manager Rafael Benitez told Liverpool's website when the agreement was confirmed.

"He is an offensive player with great energy and a winning mentality."He also played in the Champions League during his time with Basel and so is used to top-level football."

"He is a good signing, a player of potential, who can help us improve in the wide areas."

-------------------

Cheers boss.

oooh, 'Rafael'.

haughty!

seriously though, him and voronin were pretty unfathomable signings, and jovanovic is threatening to be another to fall into that category. i wonder whether there's somethin we're missing with the apparent desire to pick up bosmans and pay signing-on fees to players as opposed to transfer fees - do normal transfers, for example, also usually involve significant signing-on fees?

I'd bet that the signing-on fees are much higher for the bigger transfers; but that as a percentage, they seem to be worse in these freebies.

The freebies also seem to be on higher wages.

I think Jovanovic will prove to be one of Rafa's better Bosman's though.

Hoefully.
