Odd ... Oh well, I wonder if we'll get our share in the 2nd half as we steam roll teams in our pursuit of 4th place.

Tbh I've never seen those players dive. I think the main problem is that english refs just aren't used to seeing diving that often and so when they come across a serial cheat like Suarez they don't really know how to react.

Oh yes, you've never seen Bale or Young or Rooney dive ... No, as per Slur Alex, those lads would never dive. Only foreigners cheat!

25 games and counting since our last penalty. Some of the decisions are simply baffeling

I just don't think Sir Alex would tolerate his players diving to the extent that Suarez does.
?

You think!

Tolerated Ronaldo for half a decade or so and has been tolerating the biggest diving cunt in the league i.e. Young for a season and a half so far.

Peter Hague is on form in this thread. He's entering all sorts of new whoosh territory.

The push on Gerrard was a cast iron penalty, especially given that he gave Dempsey the free kick for far less for the second goal.

I also thought it was a definite penalty for Suarez as he went through him to get the ball.

Dowd was a joke last night but we are rarely going to get the rub of the green with refs anymore. Brendan doesn't have the clout, nor are we successful enough as a club to get it.

Anyone who saw Dowd's reaction to the Suarez dive in front of Moyes, wont be surprised that that he wouldnt give a penalty to him. In fact Im surprised he didnt find some excuse to book Luis last night.

I'm wondering how Dowd is still officiating at this level tbh. Not only has he always been a shite ref (to everyone, not just us) over the years, but the god damn state of him now is a joke. Are we supposed to believe that someone of his intelligence and fitness is capable enough to be a ref in this league?

But last night wasn't just down to that teletubby though, we've got problems that need addressing.

I'm surprised that somebody hasn't chimned in with "it all evens itself out over the course of a season" yet...

Let's hope so - We'll get 2 a game the rest of the way!

I understand that a portion of this is referees not wanting to fall for a Suarez dive, but some of the decisions that are not being given are utterly outrageous.

How on earth did Peter Hague get away with those whooshes. PULL YOURSELF TOGETHER PEOPLE.

The thing is, nevermind Suarez diving.
Yesterday it was Gerrard, the England captain, someone who usually gets the backing of referees.
When not even he gets a crystal clear peno, then something is deffo not right.
