CITY fans are right to be excited about Paul Lambert's loan swoop for Liverpool's Dani Pacheco according to a Sky Sports expert on the Spanish top flight.
Guillem Balague, a presenter on Sky Sports' Revista de la Liga and a provider of expert analysis and opinion to the Times newspaper and Spanish newspaper AS, said the Yellow Army should expect to see something 'completely new' following the arrival of the young Spanish Under-21 International at Carrow Road.
Speaking exclusively to Canaries.co.uk Balague said Norwich was the ideal loan move for Pacheco, who will don the number 37 shirt for the Canaries, commenting: "It is absolutely right to be excited. But it is very important for people to understand that he is not English, he does not play like an English player. He will add something completely new.
"It's a great idea to have him on loan for a bit," said Balague, "What you will find with him is that he is a player that plays between the lines, which if he is cleverly used can be a player who is very difficult to defend against in the Premiership, never mind in the Championship."
And in the Canaries, Balague believes Pacheco has found an almost perfect loan move, saying: "Norwich is a great club, a really great club for him to go to. Once again the expectations are high and the atmosphere is fantastic.
"He has an aura and flair to play good football and he is going to a Club where that is respected. Fans will respect that combination, although it is only for eight games."
Pacheco arrives at Carrow Road for his first loan spell away from Liverpool since joining from Barcelona in 2007, arriving in the Championship - a league known for it's very physical, high tempo nature.
But it is a test that the slight Spaniard can overcome with his technical ability, says Balague: "Some people might say that Barcelona would be easy to defend if they went to a club like Stoke and got involved in a physical bout.
"But the problem with Barcelona is that you can not get close to them. So how can you kick them if you can't get close to them? They pass it around too quickly.
"With Pacheco it will be a similar thing. The Championship is a physical league, but if he is quick thinking, which he is and can see a pass quickly without holding onto the ball for to long, that sort of play is very difficult to defend.
"You can beat three players with one pass, or in one movement and he has got that."
And with eight games remaining, with City currently in second in the npower Championship table, the Spanish and La Liga expert thinks Pacheco's hunger and desire to play football means it is the right time for his arrival.
"He is arriving at the right time because he is hungry to play," said Balague, "I do just wonder whether a player who arrives at this stage of the season can get into the line up straight away - because who do you take out and would that create an imbalance?
"In a way, it is a difficult moment to arrive for him, but at the same time a good time because he is completely up for it. So I hope he gets given a chance."
