If this wasn't so sad it would be fucking hilarious, as said previously I can't really blame him, but he has well and truly burned his bridges now, I never really thought it would happen, and then to say he did it without a thought, at least he could have said he had to wrestle long and hard with his feelings, even if he didn't mean it :-X

If he'd said that, no one would believe it anyway.
I admire the way you've stuck up for him, and your claims that he is the victim in all this do have some merit; even if I think he should take some of the responsibility.
Now I just hope he breaks something and is put out of the game forever.
Sorry if that makes me callous.

What happened yesterday does not alter my view on the circumstances of his leaving . At the risk of repeating myself, I don't believe he ran down his contract with the sole intention of leaving, he saw changes ahead and wanted to keep his options open.
Rafa was not keen on him and made luke warm attempts to keep him, as he wanted Morientes who was available at that window in time from Madrid. Yes, he went over to visit the Liverpool players at the Euro's and saw Cunt too, and for the politics made it into a mission to get him to stay.
He was again indifferent when Cunt could have come back, and might have agreed with the signing for the right money had Newcastle not come in, however as it was Parry who was pushing it he did not really like the idea.
I do blame Cunt for not having the bottle to call Madrid's bluff at that time.
I was not too worried myself, as even at that time he was damaged goods.
I would have had him this summer on a free and £40k a week on a two year contract, as back-up.
I was not happy with the reception and lack of respect he has received on his return to Anfield, as I felt at that time, for the reasons above, it was not warranted.
Yesterdays events changed that, and any immunity I might have thought reasonable has gone. Not that I will be booing, but I think it is now justified.
I do however think we need to be careful in our levels of vitriol though. Michael Cunt looks after himself and his family, he was faced with a no-brainer, but could have made an effort to think of those of us that did not bear him as much malice as others, and make some comment.
Calling him a cunt is one thing wishing nasty injuries on anyone other than a thug is another.

Well VQ i don't quite agree with what you say. As contracts are these days, they are just means for appropiate compensation and if Cunt had signed a new contract with us, his options were still open but Real would have to pay for what he was worth and it is fair for us.
Why complicate matters. Do you think if Xabi's contract was up in a weeks time, he would sign it with a prospective move in hand, of course he wouldn't
Not signing a contract was only to benefit himself at our expense. He's intention might not be to leave but it was the manner he did it that left a bitter aftertaste with us.
As for Rafa, did you expect Rafa to beg Cunt to stay?
There is a difference between begging, giving some assurances and being down right cool on the whole idea
If Rafa did not want Cunt, i'm certain he would not have even attempted to convince him to stay ala Henchoz. Even Gerrard was no exception to Rafa's treatment. It was up to the player himself to prove to Rafa that he wanted to stay. People might counter that Rafa should show some love to the players, but ultimately, the players themselves have to show that they want to stay which Cunt did not.
Regarding the possible of Cunt's return from Real, why would Rafa pay 16m for a player who did not want to play for him in the first place?
If you read my post it says "for the right money" I did not or would not have advocated spending more than £8m our original proposed fee
As for wishing injuries to players, may he have an explosive diarrhea before our games so he would be spared the abuse from our fans.
That would be fine
