Re: Cunt

Cunt is too good a word for him. He should be called an "Ankle". 2 foot lower than a cunt is much more appropriate.

He deserves all the shit we give him even though he's a former player of us because his actions have directly affected the good of the club itself and now that is done shafting us, he is relishing a chance to better our rivals.

We are the best fans in the world only to Liverpool FC and those who do right by her.

My comments were mostly directed to those who wished injury upon Owen. Regardless of what he did, do you think that is an acceptable response?
Of course it isn't.

Too bad.

If this wasn't so sad it would be fucking hilarious, as said previously I can't really blame him, but he has well and truly burned his bridges now, I never really thought it would happen, and then to say he did it without a thought, at least he could have said he had to wrestle long and hard with his feelings, even if he didn't mean it :-X

If he'd said that, no one would believe it anyway.

I admire the way you've stuck up for him, and your claims that he is the victim in all this do have some merit; even if I think he should take some of the responsibility.

Now I just hope he breaks something and is put out of the game forever.

Sorry if that makes me callous.
What happened yesterday does not alter my view on the circumstances of his leaving . At the risk of repeating myself, I don't believe he ran down his contract with the sole intention of leaving, he saw changes ahead and wanted to keep his options open.
Rafa was not keen on him and made luke warm attempts to keep him, as he wanted Morientes who was available at that window in time from Madrid. Yes, he went over to visit the Liverpool players at the Euro's and saw Owen too, and for the politics made it into a mission to get him to stay.
He was again indifferent when Owen could have come back, and might have agreed with the signing for the right money had Newcastle not come in, however as it was Parry who was pushing it he did not really like the idea.
I do blame Owen for not having the bottle to call Madrid's bluff at that time.
I was not too worried myself, as even at that time he was damaged goods.
I would have had him this summer on a free and £40k a week on a two year contract, as back-up.
I was not happy with the reception and lack of respect he has received on his return to Anfield, as I felt at that time, for the reasons above, it was not warranted.
Yesterdays events changed that, and any immunity I might have thought reasonable has gone. Not that I will be booing, but I think it is now justified.
I do however think we need to be careful in our levels of vitriol though. Michael Owen looks after himself and his family, he was faced with a no-brainer, but could have made an effort to think of those of us that did not bear him as much malice as others, and make some comment.
Calling him a cunt is one thing wishing nasty injuries on anyone other than a thug is another.

Re: Cunt

I know perfectly well how horrid it sounds, and I'm sure as time passes I'll be less vitriolic.

I'm just wondering if you'll be blaming Rafa when he scores at the Kop end and kisses their badge.

C'mon Avvy, he might have been a drowning man grasping at straws when a life-boat turned up, but he is not stupid.
I would blame Rafa , he could have been ours on a free and sensible wages.
He is not the player he once was but when fit is quite capable. I can't see him getting many starts, but I am sure Fergie will look to maximise the discomfort for us

Well VQ i don't quite agree with what you say. As contracts are these days, they are just means for appropiate compensation and if Cunt had signed a new contract with us, his options were still open but Real would have to pay for what he was worth and it is fair for us. Not signing a contract was only to benefit himself at our expense. He's intention might not be to leave but it was the manner he did it that left a bitter aftertaste with us.

As for Rafa, did you expect Rafa to beg Cunt to stay? If Rafa did not want Cunt, i'm certain he would not have even attempted to convince him to stay ala Henchoz. Even Gerrard was no exception to Rafa's treatment. It was up to the player himself to prove to Rafa that he wanted to stay. People might counter that Rafa should show some love to the players, but ultimately, the players themselves have to show that they want to stay which Cunt did not.

Regarding the possible of Cunt's return from Real, why would Rafa pay 16m for a player who did not want to play for him in the first place?

As for wishing injuries to players, may he have an explosive diarrhea before our games so he would be spared the abuse from our fans.

Re: Cunt

I think Fergie will chose not to play Cunt against us at Anfield because the reaction will be so bad it stands to give us a major boost.

If he did play I'd love it if Carra (legally) broke the little traitor virtually in half, in front of the Kop.

And if that didn't get Cunt replaced injured, then Gerrard can have a (legal) go.

Wow this isn't a fuckin Hollywood movie, mate. Gerrard would obviously want Owen to play for us. But I mean friendship transcends all that. They're probably texting each other and having a laugh over how much stick Owen is going to get when he returns to Anfield.

The only players in our squad who really lives and breathes Liverpool is Carragher. He shows it in ever game he plays, in interviews especially the one when he's asked about moving, the arbeloa thing and most importantly that he quit England.

1) Xabi is different for 2 reasons. His apparent estranged relationship with benitez and he's not from the Liverpool ranks as Cunt was. Glen Johnson had signed a deal with pompey with a gentleman's agreement i don't see why that was not possible.

2) I think it is more than likely benitez had said owen would play for his place as all the players would IF he were to sign a new contract. Quid pro quo. Sign a new contract and you will be assured. Cunt at time had already established himself at Liverpool what sort of assurances did he need? Gerrard i recalled signed pretty quickly didn't he?

3) there was no chance we could have had him for 8m. Not with his reputation at that time and clubs bidding for his services. I believe our bid was reported to be 12m. Would you be ok with it?

4) He really is a massive cunt isn't he?

Re: Cunt

Well there is no doubt its gonna be weird seeing him playing in that shit new strip of theirs. However at the end of the day he's 1/4 of the player he once was. This whole thing smacks of desparation from Gin Soak.

I think talk of wishing injuries is a too much though. :-[

Running down his contract showed a complete lack of commitment to the club, his performances in his last season relfected that quite a bit too.

His refusal to talk about a deal left Rafa with no choice IMO. Owen may not have wanted to go when he did, but he wasn't planning on hanging around for too much longer either.

Hardly Hollywood movie stuff, I'll only said 'some friction'. I'm sure you've had some slightly dodgy moments with your best friend over the years.

Anyway, what an exciting close season this is proving to be (for everyone but us so far).

Re: Cunt

I'm not sure he even is/was a Liverpool fan. He alwyas seemed to be a professional who delivered for us when he was here, but I did think he ran down his contract at the time, and I still think he did.
I was indifferent when he left for Madird - I didn't want him to fail. I didn't particularly wish to see him failing at Newcastle - indifferent again. Now - I do want him to fail for MU!

BTW, I wish we could bring the horse to Anfield. Would be the perfect backup for Torres. And Ferguson is gonna like it...

Where do you get this from Vladders? Because it sounds suspiciously like made-up nonsense- and you've been repeating this story for years, without a shred of anything more than conjecture to support your argument. Rafa would have been crazy to have wanted rid of a proven top class striker after arriving at Anfield. He even wanted to keep Heskey, God forgive him. All this 'luke warm' business is bollocks. He wanted Owen to stay, but he also wanted the situation resolved, one way or t'other. You have decided that because he wanted Morientes he didn't want Owen, which is not entirely convincing as an argument.

As to the situation when he went to Newcastle, Rafa had clearly given the deal the thumbs up, considering Parry was negotiating the deal. It was Parry, ultimately, who decided that we couldn't meet Owen's demands, with Owen apparently phoning him, and asking him to offer a deal as good as that offered by Newcastle. Remember, it was Parry, not Rafa, who made the call on such matters. Parry wasn't asking Rafa "is he worth so much a week" or whatever. But again, somehow, you have managed to construe all this as Rafa's dislike of poor Mickey. I don't have any truck with this argument at all.

Wow this isn't a fuckin Hollywood movie, mate. Gerrard would obviously want Cunt to play for us. But I mean friendship transcends all that. They're probably texting each other and having a laugh over how much stick Cunt is going to get when he returns to Anfield.

The only players in our squad who really lives and breathes Liverpool is Carragher. He shows it in ever game he plays, in interviews especially the one when he's asked about moving, the arbeloa thing and most importantly that he quit England.
In his book Carragher clearly states that if he still feels he can do it and we dont, he will play elsewhere. If his choices were Manchester United or Hull, he would sign for United. I have absolutely no doubt about it.
The only player i believe in recent times who wouldnt entertain it and WOULD go to Hull is Robbie Fowler.
The difference being Carragher, Gerrard etc would never say 'didnt give it a second thought' basically because they love the club.
That has to be the worst post you've ever made. There is no way on earth that Carra or Gerrard would play for Man United, even if the alternative was to be shot in the head.

It's your assumption, but in MO's situation i doubt their choice woule be any different. MO could have avoided being in this situation, but who would have known his decisions would have brought him here.

He still has a chance of becoming England's all time leading goal scorer and play in the worldcup for one last time in a fairly strong England team even if only in a bit part role. I wouldn't grudge him for doing all that he can to resurrect a truly faltering career.

I wish we had somewhere thrown a lifeline for him. He is a better bet to come good than Fowler.

Re: Cunt

Sheesh this is really really petty. Can someone sane enough turn off the auto-filter that replaces O-w-e-n with Cunt?

Pitiful and embarrassing.

We did throw him a lifeline - see the Doc's post above. He may have wanted to come back to LFC but he wanted the money more.

I was thinking about mentioning that, but there's no proof we actually made that pay as you play offer

There were rumours, yes..but it's as much conjecture as Vladder's posts about Rafa's dastardly machinations.

I hate him and what what he's done, but I can understand why he chose the Scum over Hull.

If he chose the Scum over us, then well..I have no words to say about that.

I really don't care if my views are extreme.
