Even Ince was more respectful - a lot more respectful - to them and their fans when he signed for us.

I wonder if it's because he wanted to come back to LFC for a long time, but thinks we never bent over backwards to make it happen. If so, even that's a load of cr@p - he himself wasted two opportunities to return, first by not playing hardball with Real and then by getting greedy when he asked us to match Newcastle's offer.

I wouldn't dignify the man by bothering to hate him. He's simply dead to me.

I get bored watching out friendlies.

There, I said it. I cant help it. It's cos there's so little footy on so I get really excited, then when it arrives & they play slower footy than a "seniors XI" side & all trot about looking nonchalant I get disappointed & bored.
I don't think anyone will disagree with that. Has there ever been a memorable preseason friendly?
Cheyrou vs Lazio. He really was sensational and led to me defending him for 2 years because of that one game.
And then there was that Josemi tackle in the game in the US. That tour was also memorable for the linkup play between Cisse and Murphy, who was of course then off-loaded.

You are aware that Malaysia are ranked 157th in the world right?

Goals against Malaysia doesn't exactly fill me with fear that he'll be on fire this season.

He'll get injured before the season starts, and then we'll see what he can offer when it really matters.

He still scored though, I expected him to have broke by now 🙂

99.999% of Malaysians are Glory Hunters and won't even tackle his trembling legs.

The fact remains that Michael Owen will score goals for any side at any level.

He's a cracking signing for United.

Exactly right.

All those comments about him breaking down are nothing more than sour grapes.

And wishful thinking, for some.

This is going to hurt us.

Will they be stronger than they were with Ronaldo and Tevez??

Nowhere close, but if Ross's predictions are right, they couldn't have bought a better budget signing.

There's still great pleasure to be taken from their summer so far, obv.

Does pre season friendly really count? Especially against a bottom bottom club? If so, Voronin, Lucas, etc would have caught fire 2 seasons ago with us. Bah.

owen will always score goals the question is will he stay fit.
I still think accapella will leave him out of the world cup squad.

They replaced Roy Keane with Michael Carrick, and Van Nistelrooy with Saha and still won League titles Macca.

They'll be formidable regardless.

He claims he played over 75% of games for Newcastle last season.

Newcastle got relegated.

What was he doing?

That's not the same thing as claiming the addition of Owen, specifically, will hurt us.

I was talking about us, Macca...not the club.

I never thought I'd live to see the day when he'd score the winning goal for the Scum; and to hear Scum fans screaming his name.

Unfortunately, I think that's something we'll all go through very soon.

Oh, I getcha. Yes, it'll niggle, but Owen's done us a bit of a favour by being so spectacularly tactless. It's very peculiar - he's always been SO aware of being diplomatic this current behaviour seems almost deliberately out of character. But he's made it so much easier to despise him.

He'll spend most of his time on the trainer's table or the bench. This will become a non-issue before October-November, if it isn't one already.
