Michael Owen said: "I had just begun to talk to other Clubs when out of the blue Sir Alex phoned me on Wednesday afternoon, invited me to have breakfast with him next morning during which he told me that he wanted to sign me. I agreed without a moment's thought.

This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I intend to seize it with both hands.

I am now looking forward to being a Manchester United player and I am fortunate that I already know so many of the players here. I missed pre season last year and am pleased that I will be starting at Carrington from day one.

I want to thank Sir Alex for the faith he has shown in me and I give him my assurance that I will repay him with my goals and performancesâ€

You dirty fucking bastard.

Anyone know what the contract entails? Like his weekly wage? or the conditions of the contract such as a pay as you play deal?

I'd say his agent knows.

And he wonders why we never took to him like Robbie or Nando?

Fucking two faced, snide, washed up cunt.

His transformation to the dark side is now complete.

He should write a book on what not to do after moving from Liverpool. There isn't much more, football wise, that he could have done to offend the fans since his departure.

This is a mad turn of events but in a way I'm not sad to see him join them. If I was a Man Utd fan I'd be very pissed off and worried that Ferguson has lost his marbles.

Not really. Its a no lose situation for them. They've got him for free and are probably paying him fuck all flat wages. If he stays fit he'll score plenty of goals for them, if he gets injured its not gonna cost them that much. Thats why i thought we should've signed him (although i'm glad now that we didnt).

No hes saying he is Darth Vader!

Ewwwww, that interview! Fucking hell!

He could've at least toned it down a little, kinda like when you score against your old club, ya'know. His tongue was up Fergie's asshole right deep there. As Fergie himself said last season "beyond the pale".

Neither I am.

If we were given 80m a few days ago and our top priority was a Owen on a free I'd be a bit disappointed.

Didier has made up his mind:

It doesnt mean he's there top priority. I know you're trying to make a point about their losses not being acknowledged by the media, but there's a long way to go in this transfer window, they could and probably will bring in a top striker/attacker at some point.

He is a cunt isn't he ? he really is now - anyway, there is something good to take from this, when he joined Madrid they were on a downer, then he joined Newcastle and they really did go down, now at Manchester .... hopefully the pattern goes on with the Owen Curse. How can he ? seriously this is just insane !!!!

He smiles without any shame like he's just found a bag of undated 20p's.

I hold no grudge against Owen at all.

As far as i can see he has got what he deserved for his lack of loyalty in the long run, i do not think that he will ever be able to recover his goalscoring form even in a very good United side. Personally I feel sorry about Owen generally, he was for a very brief period absolutely unstoppably fast and IMO for a while he was the most exciting player on the planet, and we were the team which had his best years.

He also won us the 2001 FA cup in a truly mental fashion which will always prevent me from calling him a cunt as it should any other Liverpool fan IMHO.

The sad thing is that two of the most gifted ever strikers i have ever seen in recent years were both English and came through at our club and injries fucked them both before they enjoyed their peak years.... Fowler and Owen. Happily in the case of Robbie he never sullied his name by revealing his greed.

Very good post indeed.

I'll call him a cunt until the first game of the season... as stated, he did win us the FA Cup, so I can't hate him for too long.

Still, it was a money move again...

Finally it should now be possible for me to express how much I despise the short arse piece of shit without incurring the wrath of the OCDNW gang.

having seen that picture though he can kiss my arse the little traitorous greedy glory grabbing manc cocksucking welsh son of bitch...

what the fuck is the world coming too

fergie,s has finally lost it knowone would touch owen due to all his injuries i think he,s found someone to replace ronnie ;D

Haha..

There is something about that picture isn't there?

I came onto this thread thinking.. c'mon, he isn't an "utter cunt" all things considered (fa cup final win and all).. then you see that picture with that grin on his face and you think.. "what an absolute cunt of a man". "Saint Michael" turned out to be a right old Judas eh.

Emotions aside, i'm delighted they're signing him. He's not an impact player from the bench and at least he'll take away development time from the likes of Wellbeck and Macheda.
