..... and Everton have rejected a bid of £18 million great british pounds for the Kling-On from Man City. Jesus, Can you imagine Tevez and Lescott in the same team? *shivers*
[/quote]

They are NOW getting perilously close to a side i am going to worry about.

Its safe to say that what they have now is easily a top 5 Squad. If they have a top 5 manager im not sure, but its close to being a very tidy team that.

They'd only be missing Ribery then for a full set.

Player for player they're now better than Villa, as MON(g) keeps reminding their fans, but I don't think they're ahead of Arsenal just yet.

It'll be interesting to see quickly they blend together and make a proper team. Quicker than most people imagine I reckon.

If you take the team above there, that still leaves, Hart, Petrov, Elano, Dunne, Enoua, Richards, SWP, Santa cruz, Johnson etc etc. AND they have no European football. I cant see the same thing that happened to Villa at the turn of the year happening to them.

They have a huge squad now with options everywhere, and its getting better by the day. I dont think they will get 4th, BUT i was confident Everton would be 5th. Not no mo.

They've also drastically improved their squad at a time when everyone else has stood still or gone backwards.

I think we'll be worrying about them sooner rather than later. Which is why I want to go hell bent at trying to fucking win the thing next year.

Fuck this idea that "well, we almost got there last year, so lets assume everything else remains basically the same, lets assume we have effectively replaced those who may be stolen from us, and then all things (that aren't equal) being equal, Glen Johnson is the difference".

Really, Glen Johnson, key to our title hopes?

Fuck. Honestly, I've thought we were going to move late in the market due to the way things are going, and I still think we will, regardless of whether Alonso goes or not, but this transfer market has been a horrible one.

And don't tell me about Man U having a worse one, because I've had enough of their appearing to be weak and figuring out a way to win the title. They are weaker, and we should pounce.

The dream is over...

Edin Dzeko has ended speculation over his future by signing a contract extension with reigning Bundesliga champions Wolfsburg.

The highly-rated Bosnian striker, named Germany's player of the year after hitting 36 goals in 42 appearances in all competitions last season, is now under contract until June 30 2013.

The 23-year-old has been the subject of intense transfer scrutiny this summer, with AC Milan reportedly having a big-money approach knocked back by the German club.

The announcement should be enough to ward off a renewed bid, and will come as a boost to new Wolves coach Armin Veh, who is under pressure to live up to the achievements of his predecessor Felix Magath, who led the club to a first ever league title last season before stepping down.

''The early contract extension with Edin Dzeko is a further positive signal for the future. Edin is a very important element of our team,'' said Veh, who is preparing the club for their maiden Champions League campaign.

Dzeko added: ''I'm delighted that we have been able to agree terms before the start of the Bundesliga season. Now I can concentrate fully on VfL Wolfsburg.

''I'm looking forward to playing in the Bundesliga and in the Champions League. We have big plans with VfL.''

MANCHESTER UNITED will tell Valencia to name their price for David Silva this week.

Although boss Sir Alex Ferguson claims United are not in the market for further signings, they are prepared to deal at the right price.

United will meet Valencia officials before Wednesday's prestige friendly at Old Trafford, but will have to pay £25million to land the Spain midfielder.

Silva's Valencia team-mate David Villa also remains on their radar, but the striker has always maintained that he wants to remain at the Mestalla.

Silva, 23, can play in a number of midfield positions, but has been used in a deep-lying role behind the main striker at Valencia.

Although Ferguson maintained during United's pre-season tour of Asia that they had finished their transfer business for the summer, they lack goals.

The United chief has challenged his team to break the 100-goal barrier once more this season and Silva can help provide them.

Villa remains a target for United and Liverpool, but Ferguson is unwilling to blow the transfer budget on a player who does not want to leave Spain.

Meanwhile, French club Le Havre say United have behaved "lamentably" in signing 15-year-old sensation Paul Pogba.

Le Havre are going to make an official complaint to FIFA.

Club president Jean-Pierre Louvel added: "I am fed up with clubs doing certain things without punishment."

Ha!

What atrocious summer for them.

OUT:

Ronaldo
Tevez

IN:

Antonio Valencia
Michael Owen
Luis Garcia without the goals.

Would be nice if Liverpool was hated by all these clubs for stealing their wunderkinds, once in a while at least.

Heh, I meant 'now' instead of 'not', my mistake. I think they stand a good chance of finishing higher than Everton and Villa.

Could be, but there was a time two or three seasons ago when I thought the same about Birmingham under Bruce, and it didn't work out that way in the end.
