Come back Flo Po (as back-up for Torres)!

Atletico Madrid striker Florent Sinama-Pongolle has hinted that he could consider joining Marseille, but insists he has yet to be contacted by the French club.

The former Liverpool and Blackburn player has struggled for first-team football at the Vicente Calderon as Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan have enjoyed success.

Pongolle was rumoured to be close to a return to Ewood Park in January and speculation continues to suggest the one-time France cap will leave Spain.

The 24-year-old has most recently been linked with a loan switch to Marseille but he claims he has not been contacted by Stade Velodrome officials.

Pongolle, though, has not ruled out the possibility of moving, saying: "I have not had contact from any French club.

"Marseille is a great club, the biggest in France, but I am in pre-season with my club and training hard for the new season, so let's wait and see.

"If Marseille want me, they know what they can do."
Fucking hell. When you have to big-up a move for yourself, there is a reason.
To be fair, he's not had much chance at Atletico (after a decent start there) with the form of the 45m rated Aguero and golden boot winner Forlan.

I think he's decent. Fulham or the like should sign him.
"I know nobody has been in touch, or nuffink, or expressed the slightest bit of interest or anyfink, but if they did, I'd have to, like, consider my options. That said I'm preparing for a new season, so I couldn't make any promises man. Erm, I mean I'd probably sign man, because I'd want to and all, because they're a big team and I'm a great player and all."

Terry going nowhere, say Chelsea

Chelsea captain John Terry will not be joining Manchester City this summer, the London club have insisted.
City boss Mark Hughes has made his continued interest in the England defender clear, despite having a recent £30m bid for the 28-year-old rejected.
But Chelsea chief executive, Peter Kenyon, said: "He's not available at any price.
"He's got a three-year contract. He's told us he doesn't want to go and we don't want him to go. End of story."
And Terry was at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday as Chelsea announced they have extended their sponsorship deal with Samsung until 2013.
The statement from Kenyon comes after Hughes confirmed that he was interested in signing the defender.

"We think we could offer him a different challenge," said Hughes, who saw Terry as a youngster when the ex-Wales boss was a striker at Chelsea.
"When you have been with a club a long time, you get to a point when a change of scenery could reignite you."
Hughes spent the majority of his career at Manchester United before moving to Chelsea in 1995 for £1.5m.
He scored 39 goals in 123 appearances over three seasons for the west London club, while Terry was coming through the youth system.
"I have fantastic respect for John Terry, ever since I saw him as a young player when I was at Chelsea as a player myself," added Hughes.
"He's a great player and an outstanding captain but he's very much a Chelsea player at this moment in time."
City have reportedly offered Terry a £200,000-a-week deal, but Hughes stressed that money would not be the deciding factor.
"It's not a question of finance, or money, it is about a different challenge," he said.
"It is about John being at a different stage in his life and career, and maybe that is why there hasn't been a response (to commit himself to Chelsea) because John is seriously thinking in those terms.
"I went through that process as a player and I can understand if that is the way he is thinking."

Can't believe Hull paid 5 million for Bobby "I should play for England" Zamora.
He'll prob get 5 league goals. A million per goal. Fuck that. Hate Phill Brown and Hull, hope they relegated.

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in come-and-get-me plea to Tottenham By John Cross 16/07/2009

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is stalling on a £15.5m move to Stuttgart - in the hope that Spurs move in for him.

The Dutch striker is out of favour at Real Madrid and will be allowed to leave, despite only joining in January.

Stuttgart have agreed a fee with Real but Huntelaar is not keen on a move to Germany.

Tottenham are the only English club to express a firm interest.

Bargain at that price, surely?

I think it's pretty likely Villa signed Downing as a Young replacement.

Rumours are flying around of a £25M to Chelsea but their left-side is completely covered...

If we could negotiate it down by £5M then it'd be a good deal.

Bloke in work is a Villa fan and he says the talk is Young is off to Chelsea for 30mil. He's quite pleased with the 21mil profit in 2 years.

There's still a slight risk in that he remains slightly unproven, having never played regular competitive football in a top league, but £15M's a great fee for Huntelaar. Surprised not more clubs are tempted.

Spurs won't bid unless they get over £16M for Darren Bent.

Young, obviously.

for £30m , would you prefer Young, or Abangalore?
Young. Easily too. Abangalore (Apt spelling, a Villa suporting friend informed me that rumours are rife that Gabby has fathered 4 children to four different mothers in a short period of time), is blessed with pace yet he is unsure how to use it effectively. His decision making is poor also. He was even booed by a section of fans last year which is a bit harsh in my opinion.

And we've already got Ryan........

Actually, what a great tactic to have them both on the pitch at the same time. The oppo defence would no idea what was going to happen next.

Keane, Defoe, Bent, Big Russain lad already there. They need to sell one or two, Bent is the obvious one but most they will fetch for him is 10 million and not the amount they are hoping for. I'd be shocked if they recouped the 16million spent even in this market.

KVH would be a nice signing for any club at that price. His record when he played at Madrid was okay even though they are trying to offload him straight away. Wouldn't be suprised if United or Arsenal (if Adebayor leaves) join the race.

Should we? If he is willing to go to Spurs who are flush with strikers then he must be willing to rotate and be part of the squad. Wonder would he be happy to provide cover for Torres. I'm sure he would get enough game due to competing in various competitions.

I still blame Agbonlahor for United making that comeback. He had the ball in United's final third and instead of holding onto it he turned it around and basically passed it to Ronaldo in their midfield. They scored form the resulting attack. Clownface.

30M for Young, eh?

Where did I leave my Lolcopter?
He is also over rated by many on here aswel as the critics. A lovely player who has many great attributes, pace, directness, nice touch, good energy but 30 million is waaaay over the top for him even in an inflated market.

I don't think he's overrated, but £30M is insane money to pay for someone who was a Watford player 2 years ago.

£18-23M is about his value - but Chelsea maybe getting desperate to land some younger blood to their squad, and Villa certainly don't need to sell, which could lead to an overspend.
