0852 BST: Valencia are in talks to sell David Villa to Barcelona but not for less than 50m Euros (£43m). (Marca)

Adebayor to City. Hughes seems to be buying every striker thats availeble.
They haven't adressed the defence, Given isn't good enough and their midfield isn't top 4 material yet.

Either way, top 5-6 is on the cards. I don't think they can push Arsenal this season, but 5th is a strong possibility.

Should the Sheik ever pull the plug on his "project", Manchester City football club will stop excisting. Horrendus wage bill and not much income.

Adebayor will be their 9th striker.

Uwe Rosler's not gonna get a look in now.

Ha! He's a manager over here now actually. Still a mental cunt aswell!

----------- Santa Cruz
-- Robinho -------------- Tevez --
-------- Barry --- Ireland
------------ De Jong
Bridge -- Kompany - Nedum -- Zabaleta
-------------- Given

That team is already very good. When the transfer window closes, it could potentially be a lot better as well.

Their back 5 aren't good enough. I'd go as fare and say that the defence is shite.

Zabaleta was horrible last season.
Nedum hasn't proved anything. Pace and power, but intelligence and technique like a squirrel
Kompany is decent. Just had surgery though and is out for a while.
Bridge is good, but no world beater. Didn't impress at all when he signed last january.
Given is horribly overrated imho. If City want to be a top club, then a new Gk is a must.

I'm also quite critical to De Jong, who I don't find good enough.

And how on earth are they going to keep everyone happy?? Their squad will be massive in the end.

They should have fucked Santa Cruz off and put that funds into securing Adebayor - he's proven a lot more at a higher level.

Dunno why I'm saying this, they can still afford him if they want him.

And I agree with City needing to address their defence pronto. They're in danger of becoming an extravagant Atletico/Newcastle/Holland; however I do think Given is good enough for now, he's used to being a one man defence anyway. Perhaps City are simply trying to make him feel at home?

Their defense is obviously their weak point but they are starting to put a very good team together nontheless. There is still long time to go in this transfer window and I'd be surprised if they didn't buy a couple more players at least. Signing Terry alone would hugely improve them.

Their squad will be massive true but some of the squad players will probably leave before the end of august and others will just relax and collect a huge paycheck for minimal effort every week. 🙂 It's enough for them to keep the ones that actually play happy.

Given is a decent enough keeper - he's certainly no worse than VDS was last season or Almunia / Lehmann at times for Arsenal.

I can't say I thought Zabaleta was great on the few occasions I saw him, but City fans seem to rate him very highly and he did well for them in midfield, where he played quite often in the second half of the season.

Bridge on the other hand, I've heard nothing but complaints about.

De Jong hasn't gotten much praise - heard he's pretty limited, but he's young and new to the league, so there is reason enough to wait before fully condemning him.

Their defence could certainly do with improving and it may still be addressed this summer, but if the rest of the team could go some ways to making up for it.

Too bad they loaned out Jo as he and Caceido could have played as CB's.

Given is decent, nothing more nothing less. Some seem to rate him highely, but I think he's overrated tbh. Pulls off a great save and then let's in an easy goal in the next attack.

City will probably score quite a few goals with that attacking line up, but will concede far to many goals to make them a top top team.

Could play Ched Evans and Caceido as CB's. 🙂 For someone who only joined in January, Bellamy is flying down in the pecking order.

Would love that, it would certainly piss off the Everton fan's I know.

I wouldn't, because I'm growing slightly concerned about City, and their weak defence is all that's stopping me being worried.

I'll be a bit surprised if Adebayor wants a move to City though. I thought he was headed for Italy.

I really wouldn't mind him back as a back up striker if we can get him for around 5 million.
