Can't believe that shithouse waited so long to bring his best players on. They could have had these. Why the fuck do managers make such obviously terrible decisions? Are they just trying to look clever? Does my fucking head in

I know, Moura done fuck all and Lamella is a joke. Son, Erickson and Ali on the bench?? Makes no sense, no creativity and too much respect payed to City

It like us leaving Salah and Mane on the bench and playing Solanke and Origi

Wankers..

Kind of agree with that assessment - but I I think Moura, and Lamella have been playing well and as they said today - Alli coming back after 5 match absence, and Erickson had a stomach bug. So you can understand his decision and selection. To be honest I thought Spurs would just collapse and they surprised me a little with their defending and effort - they did not fold that easily. City on the other hand can be broken down - if our front three or two of them were on better form a few weeks ago I think we could have torn new arshole in that City team. City did not create much in my view - and Kyle Walker and that Mendy bug look utter shit.

Winks was an immediate improvement on Dier. I thought Ali couldn’t finish anything he started. It was always breaking down with him.

The City defence looked there for the taking tonight, a shame Spurs spent so long with some of their best players on the bench.

Say what you like about Spurs, they are incredibly reliable about letting you down.

There's a gritty, yet unshowy relentlessness to their failure. Not for them the blaze of glory defeat or heroic collapse. No. A quiet and determined, yet inevitable commitment to not succeeding is the Spurs way.

Oh, don't get me wrong, they're a good side. They have plenty of fine players. They outperform bigger, richer teams and have been a consistent Top 4 presence. Yet this has not made any difference to their mission statement of consistent, reliable failure.

"But Brendan!" they say, "look at Liverpool! What was the last trophy they won?"

Well, one only has to look at the historical success of Liverpool. The 19 league titles. Countless domestic cups. Five European Cups, the last of which is recent memory.
And we've been in European finals regularly. Yes, we've lost them, but the hope was there. The historical precedent and realistic expectation that we could win is entirely valid.

That is not Spurs. They have wonderful results in Europe, yes - the wins over Real Madrid under Redknapp and Pochettino for example - but this does not result in a rampaging surge to the final. No, no. The let down is more subtle, yet admirable. There IS no final, simply a meek and almost unnoticed capitulation at the next stage. They don't get to European Cup finals, because that would mean a modicum of genuine success, a threat of not failing.

And recent title challenges? We had a glorious tussle with Man City, nip and tuck, the huge Chelsea game, Gerrard slipping and then "Crystanbul".

Spurs? Chased Leicester (fucking Leicester) without ever actually getting close, Leicester went top, stayed top and Spurs...just...... quietly, inevitably failed.
With all of their typical, trademarked, relentless commitment to failing.

Never change.

Even if it isn't, their creditors are going to give them about twelve pence a year for transfers.

The official attendance last night was 57,000 but people were saying the entire top tier was closed and the rest was sparse so they didn't know how it was more than 40,000. This for the visit of the champions after their best ever start. The new stadium is very optimistic, even as a long term plan. I can't imagine what the terms of the credit are, but I can't see how they'll ever pay it down without a huge benefactor appearing.

Leeds 2 on the horizon.

They really could have helped us out yesterday (and helped themselves out). City have a tricky run of 8 games coming up in the league, and we really need them to start dropping points.

They'll be fine, but can see them not spending much on transfers for a while. They've not been big spenders (net) for ages anyway.

City’s last 16 games in the league including back end of last season, won 13, drawn 3.

Ridiculous consistency.

At least they'll have won the "Our stadium holds 500 more people than the Emirates" award.

Cockney Evertonians the lot of them.

Or Man City 2

I'm sure they'll be fine.

But Pochettino and a few of the stars will leave if there is no money to sign new players.
