Other forum meltdown watch

Kind of to the credit, a couple of Chelsea fans I know have adjusted to live in the EL and battling for Top 4 quite well. I am still hopeful that they fall even lower once Hazard disappears!

What irked me about some of the journos re: City at Wembley was this underlying attempt at saying "don't abuse them for not being able to afford it" but the point fans are making is that it is bonkers that a club going for the quad seems to only have 50,000 fans all-in. If any other top 6 club had that many trips to Wembley (even if you allowed for travel and lack of trains etc) there would be about 120,000 unique fans across the three games rather than one set of fans who are either in or they are out. It is piss poor and it is ruining part of the game. Look at Watford vs Wolves - two huge groups of fans absolutely loving the occasion rather than seeing it as a chose "oh god, not Wembley again"

BS. away matches are expensive and they don't have the fan base. average wage in manc is probably 25k

That's bollocks. They're obsessed with us, like all try-hard teams trying to pretend money hasn't bought them success.

cf Chelsea

You make it sound like we’ve had success without money. We haven’t had any since money became a factor.

All successful teams now do it with money.

When have I ever claimed anything else? And we were successful when we had more money than most other clubs.

So please, shut the fuck up, you're perilously close to losing an argument on two separate fronts, both of which you're wrong about.

Ha. Fair enough. There is no argument, City fans are no more obsessed about us as we are about them.

I love the rivalry. It’s great to be relevant again in a title race agsin.

Dreamie, stop desperately trying to be a contrarian, you're making a fool out of yourself again with how hopelessly wrong you are.

Not exactly other forum meltdown but there was a caller to talkSHITE who claimed it would be the greatest injustice if Liverpool—which has been lucky with refereeing decisions, injuries (he mentioned Man U losing three players to injuries in our match as a case in point) and a kind fixtures list— were to win the title. You couldn’t have it up if you had tried.

Read the RC thread on our match vs. Southampton. Wow they are getting more and more bitter and desperate to see us fail the closer we get to the title. We are obviously cheating with the referees and all footballing bodies plus the media working for us, opposite goalkeepers and teams make it easy for us, we are lucky in every single game (nay for every single goal) with offsides, rubbish defenders, diving and penalties. To say nothing of the impudence of the referee not giving Salah a yellow card (he did) for taking his shirt off and how DARE Hendo take back the captain's armband from VvD when he came on as a sub ... a clear indication of the utter arrogance of the man.

That is from one thread of maybe 10 pages.

Do they have every other post containing dippers, candle lighters, bus brickers, iiiiistory and so on?

Caught the end of that call, and the host cut him off mid-sentence at the end, as that pillock was in the midst of saying "what Liverpool SHOULD do, is boy..."

He was actually saying that Liverpool being at the top of the table was unfair on everybody else as we've been lucky with dodgy goals, injuries to other teams' players, etc... and he was about to say that we should boycott / resign the league, because of this.

The panic and hysteria is real.

Yes there fucking is, because they fucking are.

Just like with Chelsea when they emerged, there is an existential dread and fear of "belonging" that makes clubs like us fucking Kryptonite to clubs like them.
I really like what you have said here..can you expand on this please. Many thanks. MORON

What do you think about Brendans comment Moron?
Truth is - he is being very incisive and to the point - and has described something which I think I understand in such a beautiful way that I can only admire his written English.

I can only describe it with an analogy - I think ( I could be wrong ) - the likes of City, and Chelsea are those people that suddenly achieve fame and turn up to a party full of established celebs. They either behave like "Yeah I have made it" or "Oh - shit do I belong here". I could be completely wrong, but I think that is what he has summed up when he says: "existential dread and fear...".

RedCafe has a thread and poll regarding who is the better of Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez. Hazard is leading by some margin, and the poll was created in Jan last year tbf, But there is still mumbling regarding the potential of the two in the later posts.

Blue Moon has made another thread about Liverpool so they can show their "class" in 2 threads instead of one. Probably as they have such traffic to their site.
