Burnley in 19th is nice to see. Especially after giving that gravelly dinosaur a new contract.

Fair play Poch man, Messi anonymous 2nd half has to be said.

Elsewhere Valencia top of table as it stands, some kid on his first start has put them 1 up at Madrid.

Icardi wins it for PSG, tough on Lyon because they'd defended magnificently.

Unreal cross by Mbappe who clip it to him at the far stick.

Personally I never get this 'tough on ...' , 'deserved a point' etc. for a team that spends most of the match defending and has barely a rare attack. The team attacking for the majority of the match deserves the points.

Not sure I agree with that last part, if a team has say 20 good attacks to score and only manage to score 2 they're wasteful...if the other team only have 4-5 attacks all game and score 3 they're clinical thus deserving of the win.

Impossible to say just using a statistical example. Of those 20 chances was there outrageous bad luck? Magnificent goalkeeping? Of the 3 goals scored against were there wild deflections? Undeserved penalties? Unlucky slips?
Just using statistics I'd have to go with the attacking side, though there may be exceptions (for example any time United were to lose).

It irks me that we didn't go for him when he was tearing up the championship and available for 18m

Fast forward one year and we are talking about a 30 to 40m bid. Sigh.

Meh, Bowen doesn't cut it for me. He's an underrated footballer, but he doesn't have the high-level technique needed to be an absolute top level player. He'd be a tier below Salah, Mane and Jota, and that's not the kind of player we should be targeting for our attack.

The kid at Salzburg now - he looks like a serious talent.
