madness to contemplate breaking up the gerrard torres axis. if masherano leaves than a central midfielder has to arrive.

We were top of the table with 4-4-2.
We finished 2nd with 4-5-1.
Madness.

If that's the way you're looking at it... we might as well sell Torres or Stevie because we were top of the league when one of those were unavailable.
And when they were both available we finished 2nd as you say.

I came to Anfield in december to see Kuyt alone up front and tracking back to defend on corners, then saw Lucas come on for the last 10 minutes...against Hull.
These kind of decisions cost us the title last season.
We need another top striker.

You probably should have gone there in April/May - the weather was much better and the football much much better. ;D

And, oddly enough, we were playing with one up front.
Still, I agree that I'd take Masch for Eto'o + cash. I think Mascherano is more easily replaceable than Xabi.

Not sure how much cash is proposed.
Anyway, I'm not sure I'd take Eto'o over Mascherano. Mascherano is a beast who holds our DM and covers all over the field. I don't think Xabi will be able to do his job, and I'm not sure we can so easilly find someone who can.
As for Eto'o - he's been great for Barca, but there's no guarantee he can reproduce his scoring feats in England. I'm also not sure how he and Torres will combine.
