Some players could actually use the minutes.

Trent, Naby need 45mins at least. Minamino, Kostas, Origi too. Give Rhys another run out.

Id give Trent the 2nd half to get some mins under his belt and up his fitness. Maybe take Keita off for Jones at that point . If any of Shaq Milner or Ox are fit id be inclined to give them a few mins

I hope Klopp does rest everyone bar those needing minutes and doesn't just swap a few out.

v.d Berg, who's already had starts, more likely than Koumetio who was CB in that 7-2 routing by City last week and whose confidence will need resurrecting. Adrian must surely start. I'm looking forward to seeing Cain.

Kenny Everitt has in nets again - Adrian is done - by the end of the season he shouldn’t even be on the bench in a match like this.

Either Matip or Fabs has to play to organise that defence.

Robbo defo gets a rest and Trent could do with 65 mins.

Give Gini a break too - but I’d be tempted to start Hendo and give him a half at least - Jones & Naby alongside.

Origi, Jotta & Minamino up front.

See how we go - bring on some kids from 65 mins on if everything is hunky d.

So we risk our best available keeper in a nothing match because of a dislike of Adrian? Nah we're paying him so play him and give Kev the break ready for Fulham and Spurs (assuming Ali isn't back).

Ditto CBs - we can lose this 5-0 it doesn't matter one iota, what matters is keeping our players fit, rested and Covid free not risking them unnecessarily on a trip to Denmark.

Kids & squaddies please.

I see mention of this kid and that but aren't we only allowed to play kids we have registered for this competition. Might that actually rule out some of the kids mentioned in this thread?

The flip side is that this would be very valuable experience for Kev. Although it doesn't show, he's had virtually no top level experience and every minute he can get we should give him.

I guess it will depend how injured alisson is.

Do we think He's got the rona?

I believe that youth under a certain age (or homegrown) can be played (maybe U 21 ? Not sure) and not only those registered for the group stages. There are certainly some regulations covering permissible youth players.

There is no point in playing Adrian. NO POINT!!!
Course there is (joking aside). If we could just forfeit this 3-0 (given covid situation in Denmark/Germany) then I'd do that ! Though I'm sure the youth lads would love a runout.

Here is the squad list - https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/clubs/7889--liverpool/squad/

We should start the two lads coming back from injury, and Bobby is finding form maybe a good game to see if he can bag one or two.

---------------Kelleher---------------
Trent---Williams--Fabs---Tsmikas. (Koumetio for Fabs?)
------------Naby----Gini------------- (U23 instead of Gini)
--------------Minamino
----Jota-------Bobby-------Origi-- (U23 instead of Bobby)

Whatever happens it should be 5 U23s coming on, surely!

It's the absolute definition of a dead rubber why in earth would we risk one of our two 1st team quality CBs in Fabs and play Gini (who is crying out for a rest) with Spurs, a possible title deciding game, on the very near horizon? Overseas trips are currently rife with Covid risks and that would rule a player out of the Spurs game. Anyone not absolutely needing the minutes (e.g. coming back from injury) shouldn't even be going.

Depends if we have other available CBs? I actually wrote something that I edited out - along the lines of 'play any eligible players - i just don't know who they are'. If Koumetio is eligible to start then he should (as per my brackets) - and Longstaff for Gini.

I'm with the OP.
Rest everyone bar those needing fitness. So maybe Trent plays 45 mins and Keita too.

Kelleher is a kid and a squaddie - he’s just gotten his chance - I say give him as man opportunities against reasonable quality opposition as possible - and with a couple of decent players in front of him.

Can’t have helped getting 5 or 6 smashed past him in his first couple of games.

Young lad looks to be growing in confidence - play him as much as we can - he’ll learn nothing sitting on the bench watching Adrian.

See - I’m of the opinion, even if it is a dead rubber - putting a team out there to get spanked does no-one any good.

Nat Phillips can’t play - so play him against Fulham - which means Fabs or Matip can have that one off.

Ideally - play Matip against the Danes - then he has a week to rest before Spurs.

It’s important we Blood these kids alongside a couple of good experienced players, I think.

Ideally the midfield should be Milner + 2.

We get to use 5 subs yes.... well then - let’s use them and get 65 mins out of a few coming back to match fitness - Trent, Hendo, Naby.

Argument against putting nearly all kids in, is it could be counterproductive to their development if we get twatted.

I think Klopp might bear this in mind and play 1 experienced CB, although I think I'd be tempted not to. Gutting Phillips not in the CL squad otherwise him and Williams would have been perfect.

Kelleher
Neco Rhys Koumetio Kostas
Cain Keita Clarkson
Minamino Jota
Origi

I don't wanna play Jota at all but who else is there?

Liam Miller seems to be the captain & goal scoring striker in the U23s - maybe he'll get to be part of the trip? I don't follow the U23s though so not sure if that is a good shout or not.

Maybe a simple 4-4-2, that's usually a good system to fall back on when making loads of changes/playing youngsters. I also think Origi and Minamino playing as a duo up front is probably the best bet to coaxing any kind of positive attacking output from them. It's a lot harder leading the line on your own or trying to create something from the wing or #10.

Robbo, Gini, Fabs, Matip, and the front 3 shouldn't even be on the plane.
