I remember Rafa hammering the team in training one season & them not looking fit for a couple of months, but then looking far sharper than ever before.
I'm hoping something similar is happening.
I don't think it's too much of a stretch to imagine that when Rodgers came in the squad were training at a lower fitness level that he was used to at Swansea where the focus is on pressing for 90 mins.
That's not a dig at Kenny, as 'sports science' has massively changed training in the last few years, never mind longer, & whilst I doubt he ignored it I think it's reasonable to suggest it may not have been as fitness oriented as it was playing & passing.
