I thought Milner did well in the first half. He was providing lots of runs into the box, while also mopping up at the back. But especially after Lucas went off he was overloaded and his game suffered big-time.

How would you all have felt had Coutinho and Sturridge put away their 1-on-1s ? 3-1 looks and sounds an awful lot better than a draw and I bet the mood on this board would be a helluva lot better. Because at times we did play well. I wonder what the media would be saying too. Fine margins.

Well yeah, Froggy, a win is a much nicer experience than a draw, especially at home against a newly promoted side, but it wouldn't have made a difference to my view that Rodgers' time is up. That's a view it's taken me more than a season to form, and one win wouldn't alter it, in the same way as it isn't based on just one loss.

I am of the same mind but I do think this furore that has sprung up, especially in the media, is because we didn't win. And it was a game of fine margins, Norwich never looked likely (bar the one Jarvis effort well saved by Ming) to win it despite some of their pretty passing, we did and I'd have lost my house backing one of those (Coutinho & Sturridge) to score from those situations. I would also have bet this forum would be a lot quieter too, sitting 3 points behind the Mancs and in 6th.
