Non-LFC Transfer Rumours 2020

My bet is it won't be enough. I'll admit he's settling in better than I thought he might, but he's not the guy to get them back to the very top level.
They've looked pretty good since the restart.

Fernandes looks quite the player. Pogba looks motivated because all of a sudden he's not the main man. Greenwood and Martial are good players.

Adding Sancho to the mix and they will be like Chelsea next year.

They have a decision to make in De Gea vs Henderson. But again, on this seasons performances, you'd sell De Gea.

Winning breeds confidence. Some fucker needs to burst Oles bubble again.

Just like Chelsea, their keeper is fucking wank and centre halves are on par with Lovren. You’ll never win titles being like that at the back.

The board can't rest on its laurels an expect the same squad to do the same thing, we need a CF a winger and LB. There are decent deals to be had even from freeagents

That's why I said it.. but Henderson is an in house replacement. He's looked solid enough bar the Gini howler.

Wouldn't directly disagree with any of that, hence why I mentioned Solskjaer settling in better than expected. While they'll be close, though, I don't see them as outright title challengers under him. He may lay decent enough foundations but they're going to need someone bigger and better to build on them.

Incidentally, if one goes by what he's said about de Gea ("best goalkeeper in the world") he's already made that GK choice. I'm not convinced it's the right one and IMO the fact that he made such a statement at all unmasks him for what he ultimately is, an OK analogue manager trying to be a digital one.

Henderson won’t replace de Gea. Absolutely no chance whilst de Gea is getting a million a month or whatever it is. They won’t have the balls to drop him.

To who? Nobody would fork out what they want and pay his wages. Man U fucked themselves good and proper with that contract.

Ole might not be a top-class manager, but it seems like he has put them back on track with the right strategy. I just saw somewhere that Mason Greenwood already scored more goals than Falcao, Di Maria and Alexis Sanchez combined – that shows how much of a shambles their recruitment strategy has been before, but also makes me worried they have finally stumbled upon the right formula. When you're only a top CB and GK away from a squad capable of challenging for the top prizes, well, that's exactly where we were 2 years ago.

Pretty much any manager worth his salt will do his utmost to boost his players' confidence. Doesn't mean he actually believes it.

United have got a set of top players in midfield and attack, and they will boss weaker teams. However, Klopp has made us greater than the sum of our parts and with that comes consistency as it’s not relying on individuals - like we did for years. I just don’t see OGS giving them that.

Why don't you believe Twitter on this one, but believe it with us and Thiago?

I said most likely BS about Thiago and agent talk. But whatever suits your argument.
And the Utd spending comments are from an interview with Woodward - not Twitter.

I wasn't being arsey, sorry if it came across that way. Just seemed like you're more receptive to the Twitter Thiago rumours, then completely dismissive of the possibility of Sancho going there.

I’d say there is a pretty big chance of Sancho going to Utd. But Dortmunds valuation of him and the impact from Covid-19 on spending, might see him sign a new improved deal instead. If he does return to England, I’d reckon Utd is the most likely.

I love Thiago as a player, so I want it to be true for the fact that he’d improve us.

Twitter or no Twitter.

Henderson sorts that out, but I agree on the center backs and also they need a deep lying playmaker type who can defend too.

Is Greenwood going to be the real deal or will be run out of steam like James has?

Why not? He's shit and Henderson is easily the 2nd or 3rd best keeper in the league now. Alexis Sanchez is paid a shit ton of money but Utd let him rot. They are made of money

The Sanchez deal is another hilariously bad deal. They had to ship him out and still fork out a fortune of his wages.

They aren’t the powerhouse they once were. Increasing debt issues, potentially losing a fortune from their Adidas deal and a poor recent transfer strategy.

If a decent bid came in for Henderson they’ll get shut. There won’t be a decent bid for De Gaye.

Not to disagree with any of this, but a fair bit of it depends on one's standpoint. I think Mason Greenwood may well be a top class player in the making BUT those others were spent (Falcao) or never actually wanted to play in England and came for the wrong reasons (the other two) respectively. IMO we had (at times) a title-capable squad under Uncle Roy BUT he was never the kind of leader who'd make it count. Last but not least, 2 years ago we had Jürgen Klopp in charge. I recognise the threat the Mancs could pose, hence my reference to them being close to the top. What I am saying is that Solskjaer is - IMO of course - not the guy who'll ultimately take them to glory.
