Why would he not go KSA? $400m a year for two years.

Maybe he already has lots of money and wants to go to an epicenter of the spanish speaking world?

I mean, I don't get it either, it's in Florida afterall, but every 16 year old in Argentina who can afford it goes to Miami.

Saudi Arabia on the other hand would be a totally foreign experience that would be very isolating. Shit for the wife and family. Far, far less exposure. If they didn't like Paris, Saudi Arabia isn't exactly going to be easy to adapt to.

So about 130m euros for the fee with the add-ons inc.? £110m? Unless my maths is fucking shite.

What was the point waiting around for 2 years?

Don't ask me what they mean by "Citizens"... most likely Auto Correct failure

Jude Bellingham transfer fee revealed after deal agreed for former Liverpool target - Liverpool Echo
Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund have agreed a €103m deal plus add-ons for former Liverpool target Jude Bellingham.
This season's Bundesliga runners-up will score £88m with the add-ons reaching as high as €30.9m (£26.5m) as Carlo Ancelotti's side have won the race to sign the highly-rated 19-year-old.
Manchester City were among the other potential suitors for the England international but it has been claimed that the Citizens didn't provide the financial numbers required to Dortmund or Bellingham regarding a fee or salary.

That's their nickname.

90M isn't crazy in the current market. The add ons will be worthwhile if he's a success.

I guess the unknowns are all the other shit involved such as signing on fees, agent fees etc.

There are always variables, but Madid's midfield looks future-proofed for the next decade. They're pretty savvy with their squad management.

Also suppose it helps when you have players like Kroos Modric Benzema (Ramos) that could still play ridiculously well into their 30's.

their defence is not all that, and a central striker is now missing, but they will manage

[article]According to Marca, Bellingham will earn far less than he would have done elsewhere. Had he elected to go to Manchester City, they were willing to offer him €15m per year on a six-year deal until 2029.

Los Blancos have offered him the same length of contract, but Bellingham will not earn nearly as much as that, with that figure beyond what the best-paid players at the club are earning. Fabrizio Romano claims that it will be somewhere between €10-12m that Bellingham ultimately makes – a difference of between €18m and €30m over the course of the contract.

Naturally it should be highlighted that Bellingham may make more money from sponsorship by playing at Real Madrid too.

The Madrid daily go on to highlight that the likes of Aurelien Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Vinicius Junior and Endrick Felipe have all chosen to join Real Madrid, despite having more lucrative deals on the table.

They suggest that the opportunity to join Los Blancos is what has brought those players there, and no doubt the prestige is a major factor. Like Barcelona, both of Spain’s big two are trading off their name in order to attract the top players, aware that they are unable to offer the top wages as used to be the case a decade ago.[/article]

[article]Birmingham City will receive a windfall in excess of £10million when Jude Bellingham’s transfer to Real Madrid goes through.

The exact percentage sell-on clause has not been established but, according to inside sources, Blues were expecting to bank around £11m if the midfielder moved on for the figure that Dortmund were expecting.

In total, Blues will have banked £35m from the initial sale and sell-on of their ex-academy product. It will also help the club claw back some of its hefty monthly losses and be used to off-set its deficit with respect to the profit and sustainability issues that continue to dog the club.

Bellingham came through the Birmingham academy and made 44 appearances for his boyhood club before being sold to Dortmund in July 2020 when he was just 17. The Blues earned £25m for that initial transfer and are now about to cash in once again on the 19-year-old, who has already won 24 caps for England.

Knighthead Capital plan on re-developing the St Andrew’s site as social housing and could build a new stadium on a 40-acre piece of derelict land that was formerly used as a go-karting track at Birmingham Wheels.

The Bellingham transfer money will therefore come as a timely boost for the club, who finished 17th in the Championship this season. That was their best finish since 2016, following a period of turmoil and uncertainty off the pitch.

You guys are still underestimating the scale of this. The Saudis couldn’t convince some of the star golfers to join their LIV tour, so they went ahead and simply bought the whole PGA tour. Football is more expensive, but they will buy not only plenty of star players, but also clubs and leagues. They will also try to create and exploit loopholes where a player is technically owned by one club “loans” him to another to get around whatever remained of the FFP. I think we’re on the verge of a major disruption.
