Sell him for 3 mill. No point in keeping him. Shite, 1 year left on his contract and on 40 k this season.

Out.

I'd keep him.
Me too. He's an improved young player who's scored goals whenever he's had a run of games. An excellent 4th choice striker.

We'd do well to replace him for double the prices we're quoted selling him for.

Shite is maybe a bit ott. But he isnt good enough and he doesnt have a future here.
He's on way to high wages for someone of his quality and that could be used elsewhere.

Leave for nothing after this season or getting a fee now is a no brainer. IF we buy a new back up striker. Preferably someone who can actually come on and change a game.
Look at the other top 6 squads. Would Ngog be good enough as a back up striker there? No.

IF we're going to achieve our goals this season we need better. But if there isnt any plans in motion regarding a striker, then for the sake of depth he could stay on. But seeing our interest in Wickham, Kenny at least has this in the back of his mind.

25 league games and 2 goals last season is the perfect example..

He's not shite at all.
Quite. I thought his hold up play was excellent yesterday, he looks like he's improving (again). His first touch was when he threw himself at a loose ball and nearly scored because of his endeavour, give him the ball in the box and he always looks a threat. £3m is peanuts, he's worth keeping hold of for that bit of pace late on in games.

He's good enough as a 4th choice striker, imho. But if we could arrange some player-plus-cash deal in order to get Cahill, I'd let him go.

N'Gog will score the odd eye-catching goal, but he'll squander half a dozen easy chances before it. Would anyone back him to score in a crucial one-on-one with the keeper in a tight game? I wouldn't.

Like in a 1-0 lead over the Champions at home? hmmm......

He's done it before, besides which he was having to be our first (in fact only) choice striker at the time. I doubt you'll get many 4th choice strikers who'd be much (if any) more likely to convert chances like that.

I've always been happy to keep him as back-up, and we DO need a 4th striker, so I can only hope we're going to buy a replacement - Rodallega would be brill (and would challenge for a regular spot IMO) - or the management think someone from the ressies/youngsters is ready to step up if needed.

N'Gog is always good in pre season though, strangely enough.
If we dont have anyone lined up then keep him. But Id sell him if there was a chance of us getting some money and replacing him with someone better.

The thing is, if we could have gotten I E Bellamy. You'd have an option on the bench with pace, experience abnd could play both wide and upfront. I'd much rather have that then N'Gog. He's got 3 players a head of him that can lead the line better. Bellamy will probably be available on a free, and would probably take a pay cut to come here.

Getting 3 mill + for him would be good.

He killed off the scum game at anfield the season before last so he has got something and his hold up play can be excellent sometimes. He just needs games and someone to believe in him imho, but with kenny giving the youth he's worked with at the academy a chance and morgan and a few more making waves in the reserves and youth teams I think n'gog has been hanging around the senior squad too long without doing anything of great note. I would say a loan to bolton would do him good...but with a year left on his contract what'd be the point. Sell and give the hungry youth a chance.....if they're good enough they're old enough and all that! 🙂

Bolton offering 3.5M for N'gog is a no brainer. In the last year of his contract and still making 2M profit. Get the deal done or use as a make weight for Cahill.

He has no doubt improved but with Kenny's penchant for giving young talent a go and Adam Morgan's stock on the rise, I'd free up a first team squad place for a player many deem to actually have a Liverpool future.

i think people are missing the point here. The market is speaking and reflecting his ability, he may not be shit, but he is a £3m/£4 pound player and that does not make him very good in todays inflated market. His big problem is, surprisingly for his physique, he is far to lightweight for this league.

Regards

With great respect, Vlad, I think it's that which (for once) misses the point. An admittedly £3/4 mill.player, who has nevertheless shown that he knows the way to goal, is a decent option as 4th choice and we may find it hard to find a better 4th choice if he does go.

I like to look at it this way

Can we sell N'goals and buy someone else better for the same price? Not without resorting to kids.

Keep him and promote Morgan too. Focus on selling degen, el zhar and Poulson.

I don't remember him getting in too many one on one situations tbh Del, I know he fluffs stuff, but for a 4th choice his record is reasonably good. I'd keep him, like I said, but as an impact sub.

Thanks for that JJ, but I am not, I am pointing out to people with an over inflated view of N'gog that he is what he is.

If we bring in a decent striker as the third option I would not be averse to keeping him

as someone who watches the reserves, I thought morgan was shite but in the last year, WOW. what a transformation.

LOLZ

Skysports.com understands Bolton Wanderers have made a bid to sign Liverpool striker David Ngog.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle is in the market for attacking additions after Daniel Sturridge returned to Chelsea after an impressive loan spell and Johan Elmander joined Galatasaray.

Turkish forward Tuncay is close to finalising a loan move to the Reebok Stadium and Coyle is now stepping up his interest in Ngog.

The 22-year-old has scored 19 goals in 94 appearances for Liverpool since he moved to Anfield from Paris St Germain three years ago.

He was linked with a move to Sunderland earlier in the summer as part of the deal which saw England midfielder Jordan Henderson join Liverpool.

However, he could now be offered the opportunity to link up with Bolton after the club made a bid in the region of £4million for the Frenchman.

Coyle has also been linked with Birmingham City's Cameron Jerome as he tries to improve his options up front before the transfer window closes at the end of August.
