New threads

It's okay to start them.

A lot of threads lately have been dragging on for ages and inevitably going way off topic. Case in point being the "todays games" thread.

We're finding threads like that and the Suarez and Carroll ones counter productive so we will be locking them. If you have something you want to post you don't have to search for months old threads on a slightly similar vein, just start a new one.

thanks

Wonders if there are any country and western songs detailing how good the "old treads" were?

Really agree with this.
If I'd known that my thread of Today's Games would've dragged on for as long as it has, I definitely would've tried to have thought up some really cool and awesome title instead of what it is.

Did we really need a new thread about this? Use the search button. I'm sure there's an old thread about starting new threads.

Good idea Mr Ross, particular from this old gits perspective.

I try to keep up with threads I have been involved with, so I don't miss anyone slagging me off that might want their legs breaking, so I tend use the "show replies to your posts" button quite frequently.
So the trouble is with these mega rambling threads, yours truly will make his usual brilliant observations on page 1 , then it goes off into hamster shagging and such like and eventually ends up with Muslims on page 90 and I keep getting reminded about it , when I have lost all interest and my sparkling contribution has been lost in the mists of time, oh and the "show all" button has given up by then too

regards

What if I feel the need to let you losers know Ive nutted, then wanna tell you about a prostitute I nearly fucked until I became cautious of the man shaped object in her pants, deciding its probably better to go for a rimming instead?

I should be allowed to make 80 different threads about my sexual desires and catastrophies.

I'm still trying to understand why he didnt sleep with her because he was afraid the she was a he but had no problems letting the he tongue his arsehole.

Is this why the Suarez and Torres threads have been locked?

My pet hate is finding a thread on page 1 called "Liverpool about to sign <chose your favourite superstar>" and when you open it full of excitment you find it is 30 months old and got promoted as someone dug it up to say "I see <favourite superstar> had a good game last night at the third club he signed for since this rumour wa proved false"

So - I agree 🙂

I'm glad my thread moaning about threads going off topic hasn't gone off topic itself.

I find it strange that you're asking us to start new threads. Mods on other forums say the exact opposite.
The fear is that every time someone has something on his or her mind, they will decide to start a new thread to get an opinion on it even though there's other threads covering the same topic.

I started the Dalglish media thread so that we could have all his interviews and press conferences in one place so it's easier to find.

We're a small enough forum to be able to make new threads without it being a mess.

I'm in agreement with the OP.

And we can merge anything that needs merging.

The Dalglish media thread is vault material in the making, it isn't a problem. Why on earth somebody might need to go through sixty or ninety pages to read what we think about Suarez and Carroll against United is another matter.

Its rational. The todays games thread is ridiculous, it doesn't need to be so big. Obviously in the case of the Dalglish thread modo that is a thread that can be brought back up over and over again. We don't need to haul up threads about Hazard from 2009

You both have a point.
