Why the fuck would Van Gaal, Hyddinck or Rijkard come here.... are they noit under contract... at teams that might offer more... and donm

Hodgson & O'Neil won't come and don't even reptend we can get Capello.

Dalglish... seriously... fuck me... maybe we should see if Roy Evans could be his assistant. (Note : Dalglish is the reason I follow Liverpool).

We are left with the 2 following options :-

Alex McLeish
Sven Goran Erickson.

.... and I fear even SGE wouold rather stay unemployed....

Oh Joy.....
Why are they the last two choices? Have I missed something?
No.

That is largely hysterical nonsense.
Alright chief.... let's have your list of credible replacements....
I've already said that there's nobody that's available that really excites me.

But, why wouldn't any of the 3 Dutch guys come here ?

O'Neil and Hodgson would crawl over broken glass to get to Anfield.

You're the one making us out to be some leprosy-ridden untouchable, not me.
Where do you get this Hodgson & O'Neil would crawl over broken glass thing from.

they've both re-affirmed their committment to their current club recently.

Why would O'Neil leave Villa for a team that finished lower in the league, with boardroom uncertainty, limited funds and higher expectations?

.... and he's not that good!!!!!

Shit, you're right.

Villa and Fulham are much bigger and more prestigious jobs.

Fuck.

We are fucking shit.

I'm going to support Barca.

Or Real.
well... you know what..... one finished above us in the League... the other got to a European final while we were knocked out in the semi's.

So.... what do we want our manager to achieve next season?

..... and what sort of "prestigious" budget afe we offering to take our team forward.

.... and if they think Benites is "political"... fuck me... appointing O'Neil might just be worth it for the comedy value...
I don't want either of the fuckers.

I just said they'd want the job.

Fucking hell.
and again I pose the question.. "would they?"

..... "and why would they"

and... "why would we want them?
Fuck off, you drunk prat.
arf.

tell you what... give me an answer and I'll review it in the morning ....

cock

😉

arf!
Honk.
oh come on... give me more than that....

I would love Fatih Terim to be our new coach :🙂
He reminds me or a turkish mourinho and has had a sucessful playing career aswell as managerial career + he is a free agent after he quit the turkish national team. He would also bring arda turan with him 😉

Not really, id much prefer someone like pellegrini but terim isnt a bad coach.

Themn is right.

You are being hysterical.

Liverpool will always be able to attract good managers, although in our current state we cannot attract the best.

Hodgeson has expressed interest in the Liverpool job in the last few months, and not everything is as rosy at Villa Park as many like to think. Because of that O'Neill would probably come too.

Thank the loRD Themn, anyone who suggests hiddink could you explain why, he's the biggest fraud in world football. A failure as a manager, he has never in his career won a major leauge, he's won the fa cup and champions leauge in 1988. When he was given the chance to manage Real Madrid he was sacked within 6 months and then went zargoza and was sacked again. Sacked twice ion a season. He failed to get a very good russian side to the world cup.

I just dont want hiom anywhere near the club, especially for the wages he would want for acheiving nothing.

Chelsea - he improved by one place in the leauge won the FA Cup, thats got my juices going.

South Korea - Yes getting fourth place in the world cup is good. Let me tell you something you may or may not know. The season before the South Korean world cup they shut down the south korean leauge so that Hiddink could prepare his players for the world cup the following season. This meant that he had a huge advantadge over the other sides. He had nearly 52 weeks every day to spend with his players as opposed to the 4 weeks every other manager had.

Australia - I think your doing a diservice to the quality of the Australian team at the time, They where probably the best team Australia have ever taken to the worl cup. They got to the last 16 and knocked out.

Again what has he won of note in the 30 years of football? Why should the club spend 5-7 mil a season on a 65 year old man who has 2 major trophys in 30 years?

If you would like to watch pretty football but winning fuckall go and watch arsenal.

Arsenal are not my team so i couldnt give a fuck about how they play or what they do. His football compared to the football Benitez had us playing this season is very different.

Look at the quality of the South Koreans and the quality of other teams players. It shouldnt make a difference. As for the Australian national team, yes i agree it was the best team we have ever had, but it still wasnt great. We got through the group stages beating japan and drawing 2-2 with croatia but had a goal disallowed and a player from croatia not being sent off with 3 yellow cards. 1 being one of the best asian teams, the other being a top team in europe. He then had the australian team play good football against the italians without our best player kewell and we should have won the game but a refereeing decision fucked us.

As for chelsea he JUST missed out on winning the title with them, so i would say he isnt as shit as you make him seem, and he would be an upgrade on Benitez.

I dont care if he got sacked as coach of real madrid and real betis (not zaragoza). He also managed the netherlands to a semi final finish in 1998 and got russia to the semi finals of the euro 2008. He got PSV to the semi finals of the champions league only losing to man utd to not get into the finals. He has won the Dutch league many times, won the FA CUP with chelsea, He won an intercontinental title with madrid even though he got sacked after and has won the champions league too.

Guus is a class act coach and is miles better than what we will probably end up with.

I'm not surw which of the 800 threads to put this in, so I'll go with this one:

What's the criteria for this new Manager then?

Based on what we (think ) we know, or what is most likely, the candidate is going to have to fall into these categories:

(1) Cheap/Available. We're not in a position to be able to buy out a Mourinho from Inter like Real just did, so that rules out trying to prise someone like Capello away from the England job.

(2) Willing & able to work with a budget. Most articles say we've got 5-15M to spend this summer. That hardly sets the pulses racing for any Manager when we're trying to sell the club. Capello and Hiddink would laugh at that, and to be honest - so too would Redknapp. He spent 17M on David Bentley for fucks sake. Debate what you like about the prestige of Managing Liverpool, but Redknapp's well backed at Spurs, and coming to us knowing he'd have to 'make do' aint appealing.

(3) Reputation. Whomever comes in will have to be good enough to appease Torres, Gerrard. Masher et al. Again, say what you like about their motivations and loyalty, but they're professional footballers with a shelf life. Torres and Masher have won fuck all at club level, and aren't gonna hang about with us forever on the off chance we'll start to compete seriously again. We need someone that says to those three that this guy's worth staying for. That rules out a MON, a McLeish, and probably a Hodgson to be fair.

(4) Big enough. Regardless of how well Fulham did last year, and where we finished in the league, we are still one of the biggest sides in the World. Why settle for second best? Sure, financial limitations will mean we're not going to drag Mourinho out of his new contract, but is MON or someon of that ilk really 'Liverpool material'. The manager of a club is the figurehead, you've got to ensure that person has the credentials to be able to handle that, especially at a club our size.

(5) Tactically capable. We're not Aston Villa, and yearning for a return to any glory, be it the Carling Cup at best. We've punched at and above Europe's best for 5 years now, regularly defeating and scaring the shit out of continetal European sides. We did that cos we had a tactically superb manager, anything less now is going to see us fall by the way side cos we don't have a big or good enough squad to compensate. That rules out O'Neill's rudimentary tactics, McLeish and Hughes. It rules in a Van Gaal, who has few peers when it comes to tactical nous, Hodgson too as his route to the UEFA Cup final this year demonstrated his fantastic football brain. Do you think Steven Gerrard is going to want to play under and O'Neill or a Van Gaal? Right.

There are probably more factors, more to consider, and more boxes to tick, but any manager in the frame is going to have to meet most of that.

Who ticks most of the boxes for you mate?

My heart - Van Gaal.
My head - Hodgson.

I think MON is a complete non-runner on so many levels.

I'm starting to think van Gaal would be a great appointment. I think I've been biased against him because he's just so fucking ugly.

Van Gaal gets my vote cos he's a tactical sexbomb, and I'm a sucker for that.

There's probably next to no chance of it happening though, so fuck that.
