New Manager?

You're all mad. Laudrup's managerial CV is less impressive than Paul Jewell's.

'He probably wouldn't cost much so why not?'

FFS: this is Liverpool we're talking about, at a crucial stage in our history. We can't just take some random risk because we saw Getafe play a bit of nice football on television once.

You're forgetting one overriding factor in KHL's recommendation.......

*edge of seat*

Some of those candidates listed make me feel sick at heart.

To coin a phrase: It's all a bit like ditching your bird, who just happens to be Kelly Brook, and then choosing a replacement out of Pat Butcher, Dot Cotton or Deirdre Barlow.

By the way, say we appoint Pellegrini, O'Neill, Hodgson whomever what are we expecting them to achieve? If you were setting targets for him what would they be?

Thats obviously because we arent going to get a manager of capello, mourinho etc in. So with what we are most likely to get at the moment, laudrup wouldnt be bad

We shouldn't pick just from "what we are most likely to get at the moment". We should draft the King in as caretaker and do a proper search for someone we really want.

If we had to appoint straight away, Hodgson has international experience and wants the job. We're in a tricky enough situation without taking a punt on the inexperience of someone like Laudrup.

In Italy they say Lippi is a strong candidate for the Liverpool job
That would maybe get the cock to rise. Lippi, trap, Gaal or if we want to gamble Blanc.

I agree. Im not saying i want these managers but its obvious we wont get a manager like capello or mourinho until we have rich owners and are a stable club again. until then we have to make do with what we are most likely to get, as depressing as that may be. Having kenny for a season as care-taker manager or until things are sorted would be great but its not upto us, its upto the owners

Lippi or Van Gaal would be fantastic.

Blanc could be another, but I think he has agreed to take over the French national team.

I didn't think anyone was actually serious about Laudrup. were they?!?

He's done nothing as a manager.

He has, yeah. Blanc's out of the picture.

Good news lads. I've nicked this from elsewhere, but it seems we're safe from Hodgson.

We can rule Roy out anyway now. He was done for shoplifting kitchen utensils. He said it was a whisk he was willing to take!

Don't tell me KHL's actually going to get his way on this. 😉

Ha ha..

Four manager-candidates I'd be pleased to see in the Anfield hot-seat come Summer:

Marcelo Lippi - Class act.

Deschamps - Managed to bring home Marseilles first league-trophy since the early 90s this Season and I'd love for him to do something similar at Liverpool.

Jorge Jesus - Not only because of his surname but simply because Benfica was one of the best playing teams in Europe this Season. Don't really know that much about him mind.

Michael Laudrup - For sentimental reasons as well as the prospect of having a real footballing-capacity in our manager-seat and one who'd give us loads of positive spin in the press as well as amongst footballers and managers alike around Europe. (At least untill the Season starts and we've lost the opening game away to Bolton).

Would maybe take Lippi, definitely take Deschamps, don't know a lot about Jesus and have interest in Laudrup

The only downside to Lippi is his age as he's only six years younger than Ferguson.

Perhaps not one for the long run (ten years) but maybe a few years would suffice for him to take us back to the top.

I agree. He is a good manager but it just depends how long term we are looking. Mind you, do we really want to be handing out long term contracts again?

I pick deirdre barlow.
I googled her Oncy, she's fictional.

That'll never work.

Otherwise we would've appointed Batman ages ago.

Is it not Deirdre Rashid anymore?
