I wanted Young, or a winger in all honesty.
Still weve waited this long....
Well I do agree that there were problem area that needed addressing but the main one going into the window I think, was a second striker. That was done sucessfully and even more impressively they moved very quickly to replace Judas.

Lets wait til the summer, a much more opportune window, to fully judge the willingess to spend and to fill the gaps in our squad

Off subject maybe, but what's the latest on the stadium relocation/expansion?
We're going to sell the one we have and move into one not quite as good.

And you moan that I'm too negative Andy....

things could be worse you know.
Dont worry, it'll be younger, english and with the potential to be a better stadium.

I know, I've gotta say Oncy's flip flopping has been too much for an already emotional day today!

Hopefully with less damages than the old one too.

And sturdy and not prone to collapse and only open occasionally

Btw, in the event that Kenny does end his spell as a caretaker manager to make way for a new man at the helm, the owners should have little to do to convince their managerial target RE putting money where their mouth is, and that they mean business.

I dont think he's viewed as a 'caretaker' any more 8)

When I said that the owners backing Kenny to the hilt in the transfer market confirms that he'll get the permanent appointment, someone said not necessarily and its a bit premature. I stand by my summation.

Either some usually half decent posters are on a wind up, or they really are just hysterical bellends who occasionally decieve with a good post.

I genuinely can't think of a single negative.

Torres left us in the shit. We signed the prems top goalscorer.

Yes it was for over the odds but a) it's the january window, clubs rarely want to let go b) it was the last day of said window and c) We'd just received/were in the process of receiving £50m.

Llorente, lukaku, benzema etc would have all been lovely but a) are they available? Doubt it B) would they want to come? Again questionable and c) Would they have cost less than Carroll? Again, who knows.

Massive show of force in the market both internally and internationally in this window, prior to Torres leaving/word of him leaving coming out and also replacing said son of Anfield.

We clearly tried for young and failed. Who knows who else we were in for.

It's probably also fair to say that theres a strong possibility that had this Torres transfer and the talks from the 5 days before it happened taken place, we might have in fact got Young and not baulked at spending £5m more or whatever.

furthermore we refused to let Blackpool bend us over a barrel, we showed a bit of refrain and class in the matter too.

We are going places.

Edit: any talks for any winger will have taken a back seat when we HAD to have a torres replacement, to seal a deal for both E.G Young and Carroll whilst getting torres out of the door in one day would've been mental.

I have every faith that we'll nail the winger problem this summer.

JJ, let's see who buys who a pint? Deal ;D

And judging by how things went Dalglish seemingly has no problems working with Comolli. That can only be a plus.

I don't get why people keep saying this, Berbatov and Tevez have scored more than him haven't they? What am I missing?

Corrected. Overlooked I guess. 🙂

How is it a "show of force"?

NESV coughed up the grand sum of £1.8m this transfer window. All they've shown is that money received will be reinvested back into the team, a principle that most clubs unsuffocated by debt/interest follow.

I'd prefer a glass of S.African Cabernet Sauvignon, but a pint of beer is fine. ;D

They tried to spend more than that though. And we were initially going to buy without selling the petulant little cunt.

They wanted to.. The initial plan was to just just buy Suarez and Adam with Babel going out.. Torres ballsed everything up..

I'd like to think they went for their main/prioritized targets as well, instead of settling for 2nd/backup choices, which seemed to be the way under previous managements.

We also enquired about Richards to the tune of 20m and came close to an approx 20m signing of Young (that's not to say we would have signed both of them).

The owners have been fantastically supportive during this window. In fact they may be slightly disappointed they didn't get someone else.

Anyone who had any doubts about hunger or anybody taking this club forward, they're gone now. In the summer we'll be looking forward to trying to enhance what we've got.

The Suarez deal was on before we sold Torres.

Yep a pretty uneducated response that and clearly hasn't followed what was transpiring yesterday
