OKC are not playing around!!

Draymond the donkey with balls to say this was not intentional, I pray that he gets suspended for game 4. After this happened in the game OKC dominated in every sense of the word.


 
That was an absolute blowout.

Meanwhile, the Cavs making a total hash of it against the Raptors. Series tied at 2-2.
 
Green will be available for game 4, fucking gutless NBA, they say the call should have been a flagrant 2, which would have warranted an ejection. He gets to stay in the game, and not miss any additional time.

I have been watching basketball my entire life and even played some when I was younger and I have never seen somebody life their leg like that in a shooting motion, it is just not a natural thing to do in that situation, it had intentional, no doubt about it.

I hope OKC use it as motivation and go out and blow them away again.

He is flat out balling son!! If the likes of Ibaka, Adams, Waiters and to a lesser extent Kanter and Roberson can continue to put forth solid contributions, OKC will win it all.

I guess this is what happens when the Warriors face a full strength, healthy team, this OKC team is a far cry from the Rockets and Portland.
 
And Draymond the donkey is at it again, looks like an intentional trip to me. The NBA will do nothing, hell the media is barely talking about it. Can you say bias?

I didn't want to comment after game 4 ... at the end of the day, 3-1 leads mean nothing if you don't win the series, and I still didn't believe OKC had it 'in the bag'.

Now it's game 7 .. and all the pressure is on OKC, which may actually help them ...

It was close but what can you do .. Karl's curse on Durant continues - he cost them game 6, and couldn't do enough to give them game 7 ...

Do the Cavs stand a chance? It all depends on what Love/Kyrie/JR we see ...
 
These playoffs are brilliant, I didn't mind who won between the Warriors and OKC but that series adds to the Warriors legacy in a big way (provided they seal the deal).

I wonder what happens with Durant and Westbrook now.

The finals are hard to judge - the East is clearly weaker and the Cavs made hard work of the Raptors which would make you think they don't have much of a chance.

But they have LeBron, Irving will give Steph some trouble (although Steph will win a shootout with him) - so if Love comes up big they have a chance. OKC showed dominance on the boards is one thing you need to give yourself a chance. Thompson and Love should be enough in that regard.

It would be such a shame if the Warriors didn't finish this now

The Warriors legacy is already sealed - a great NBA team with two of the best shooters in NBA history. That can only improve - with, or without, a championship this year.

However, I think they bowed out of the chance to really be able to be compared to the 72-10 Bulls team in this series (down 3-1, and getting game 6 thanks to Durant's horrible shot selection).
 
I can't agree - at this point they're the greatest team to have ever played the game and have the record to prove it.

But if they don't win the Championship that rep is tarnished
 
OKC played harder and better defence through the series, but ultimately lacked the versatility on offence to score consistently in crunch time.

The Warriors simply had better shot makers all over the floor.

After having been so impressed with Donovan's negation of the Warriors' 'death' line-up, I was disappointed with Donovan's lack of improvisation on the offensive end.

The only offence OKC ran was the Westbrook drive and dish or the Durant isolation. It became painfully predictable. What happened to the good old PnR?

I really felt they should have played Kanter more and used him run the mid-range pick n' pop with him whenever they were getting stagnant on offence.

The Bulls team that went 72-10 didn't go down 3-1 to any team in the playoffs ... Let alone get absolutely HAMMERED as they Golden State did in that series ...

Let's look at that Bulls team in the playoffs:
3-0 vs Heat
4-1 vs Knicks (with the one loss being OT)
4-0 vs Orlando (Shaq & Penny led)
4-2 vs Seattle (Kemp & Payton, 64-18 regular season)

Their overall record was 87-13 (0.8700) ...They lost as many games in the playoffs as Golden State lost in that series ...

Golden State's overall record is 85-14 (73-9 regular season, 12-5 in the playoffs) ... 0.8586 winning percentage ... Even if they sweep Cleveland, it's only 0.8641 ...

That Bulls team was a better team

It was much easier to dominate back then. The salary cap now makes it more or less impossible to dominate in the same way.

That is why the Warriors is the greatest team ever in the game.

This Warriors group will go down as the best counterpunching team in the history of the league though, and that's something the Bulls won't have. And it's not flukey cardiac kids stuff either, they aren't afraid of taking big shots and stepping up when it counts.

There's also way more parity in the league now, as well as generally better athleticism/defending/scheming. There's no fair metric to compare the two teams IMO, but there's a lot to be said about how Golden State hasn't just broken records, they've absolutely shattered them. They've taken record marks which were considered untouchable and made them benchmarks they could plausibly pass every game, series, or season.
 
Oh, and if they lead to the diaspora of OKC and/or Lebron's Cavs, that would be massive for their place in history as well.

Better athleticism? definitely.
Better defending? don't see it - but some of that is due to the rules that limit defenders (hand check etc) in this era.
Scheming? Didn't need that with 23! 🙂
 
I mean the Triangle Offense is basically obsolete now, and that was a big part of the success of those Bulls teams.

If there was a team capable of playing it, they would ... The Knicks obviously tried, but didn't have the talent or players to do it ...
But look at how San Antonio plays for example - that's old school bball.
