NBA 2015/2016

There has to be a way to stop Curry - I'm starting to feel the Big O was right.

Something tells me they'll break the Bulls record - but the Thunder will beat them in the playoffs.

He takes and makes that shot so regularly it's scary. I suspect his 3PFG take and make rates from those crazy distances would still look better than the regular 3PFG numbers of a lot of guards and forwards in the league.

The GSW commentator for the Atlanta-Warriors game just shared the stat on this:

Curry is 11-for-22 on 3 point shots from 30 feet and beyond this season.

Forget the NBA for a moment. NCAA Men's Basketball final - caught the second half of the Villanova - North Carolina game. What a brilliantly wild finish that was.

Tuned in when UNC was trailing in the second half by a few points. They kept plugging at it but Villanova kept their lead, sometimes extending it - to 10 points at one stage - and sometimes letting it get whittled down to a basket. Down to the final 13+ seconds and UNC trails by 3. They bring the ball up and with 4+ seconds left, Marcus Paige evades a steal attempt and then hits an incredible trey - great hang time and stability considering the midair kick he made on his jump. After all that work working down the gap, it looks like they've finally earned a deserved overtime.

But no. Villanova takes the inbounds play from their backcourt, pushes it up and nails a winning three at the buzzer. UNC didn't defend the final shot well enough I think. Some clutch shooting from both sides at the end there.

It was a final for the ages. Brilliant game.

Now that the boring regular season is finally done and dusted with, anyone want to do predictions for the 1st round of the playoffs? My picks:

WEST
#1 Warriors vs #8 Rockets -- Warriors in 4
#4 Clippers vs #5 Blazers -- Blazers in 7
#3 Thunder vs #6 Mavericks -- Thunder in 4
#2 Spurs vs #7 Grizzles -- Spurs in 5

EAST
#1 Cavaliers vs #8 Pistons -- Cavaliers in 5
#4 Hawks vs #5 Celtics -- Celtics in 6
#3 Heat vs #6 Hornets -- Heat in 5
#2 Raptors vs #7 Pacers -- Raptors in 5

Here are my humble yet correct, predictions:
WEST
#1 Warriors vs #8 Rockets -- Warriors in 4
#4 Clippers vs #5 Blazers -- Clippers in 6
#3 Thunder vs #6 Mavericks -- Thunder in 5
#2 Spurs vs #7 Grizzles -- Spurs in 4

EAST
#1 Cavaliers vs #8 Pistons -- Cavaliers in 6
#4 Hawks vs #5 Celtics -- Hawks in 6
#3 Heat vs #6 Hornets -- Heat in 6
#2 Raptors vs #7 Pacers -- Raptors in 7

West will win, regardless of who the Eastern champions are.

Spurs vs Warriors.

Cavs vs Raptors.

Jim Carrey and the Mavs find a way to get it done in game 2 somehow, and on the road no less.

I'm guessing that the Thunder wake up and win 3 straight now.

I hope not but the Mavs are rather unhealthy, so it won't be easy.

I really like the look of the rook from Virginia -

Anderson I think, he does look good, and he is a bit older than most rookies, I think he stayed in college a few years.

And besides Dirk the one thing you have in your favor is you have the second best coach in the league after Pop, Jim Carrey is no joke, especially in the playoffs. You could sneak a game in Dallas.

He'll be with us for the next 15-20 years - so I do hope he adds to the #1 (that should be 2)

I'm assuming you're referring to the 1 championship that you feel should be 2? If so, 1 is more than fair, don't forget you should never have been in the 2006 Finals in the first place, the refs (and Ginnobli) fucked up and game Dirk the and 1 in game 7, forcing overtime.

God that still makes me mad, that was our chance to 3 peat.

Nah, I'll take 2 ... 🙂 You have had enough championships to share.

Ha! Go to about 3:10 and try and tell me Manu did not get all ball, deciding moment of a game 7 and the refs decide it should be decided at the foul line. This was right up there with Derrick Fisher and the .4 second shot in 2004 and Ray Allen's bullshit in game 6 of the 2013 finals.

Mavs embarrassed ... Good call (unfortunately) Karl
Raptors win ...

less then 2 minutes Houston-Golden State, Houston by 1

Stupid finish in the Warriors - Rockets game. Series is 2-1 now. Harden with an obvious offensive foul to clinch the winning basket that's now being flagged up post-game as a blown non-call. Warriors have themselves to blame though, and that last play with Green dropping the ball off his foot was so much LOL.

Would've much preferred a Warriors - Jazz series; the Rockets are just shit to watch.

Rockets be like all excited after Harden's winning jumper...

I thought that was hilarious but with the amount of in fighting on that team this year it's hardly surprising.

First off James Harden goes and gets the coach fired then everyone realizes wait a minute aren't you the one that came into the season out of shape because you didn't work at all in the offseason?

Then they limp through the regular season, make the playoffs and now have a completely uninspired Series against the team they know they're going to lose to.

It would have been miles better, you're right, the Jazz would have had no chance of course, but at least they put forth an effort and play defense, it would have been one of those 4 or 5 game series where each game is a complete scrap.

Dallas down 3-1, Durant with a silly flagrant foul earning an ejection very late in the game.

San Antonio just officially made the 2nd round. The Thunder should be a good warm up for us on the road to Golden St.
