Anyone know much about mountain biking out there? If so how much would you expect to pay to get an ok bike and what is a good one to get?
My current bike is not very good. Its called "The SS Chill", so I think thats a good indicator of its shitness. How they thought that was a good name ill never know! I think its aimed at 14 year old boys.
I dont need anything special (no mountains near me) but I want to do some off-road riding in the hills.
I have not been able to exercise since fucking my achilles playing footy a few months ago - so because of the appeal of the low impact, I dug an old bike out of the shed a few weeks ago and im loving riding around the national parks. Its making a nice change to spending the whole weekend drunk / hungover to be honest.
Ive got a max around 800 bucks / 400 pound to spend - I was looking at a Giant Talon 2...is that enough or should i save up for a while longer? Hopefully not too much, Im tired of getting on board the SS chill.
Eventually id like to take a week off to ride the Mundi Biddi trail which is about 400km long trek through the bush although I might require another upgrade for that.
