But this squad is amazing, any manager would succeed with players like this in it:

Origi: "All the attributes in the world; pace, power, can score inside and outside the box, does it in big games, away from home, sits on the bench and doesn't fucking moan, comes on and scores. He'll end up with 15 goals this season is my guess"

Firmino: "He is fucking quality. All over the place quality. Our top scorer in 2016 with 13 goals.What a fucking footballer Firmino is.

Wijnaldum: "fucking outstanding . If you don't rate Gini, then fuck knows what you're watching".

Karius: "impressed me in plenty of games".

"No side in England - not even the league leaders are close to us, this forward line is as good as we’ve had in 20-plus years in the premier league".

I'm just upset we aren't challenging for the title with that lot in the squad.

If that is legit, then it has to be one of the most over-the-top assessments of our current frontline I've read. I guess the one saying it was high on a few good performances? Or just high? Both valid excuses.

We have on our day looked very potent I agree but before we get into orbit here we are at the very least a top striker short of getting anywhere near some of the forward lines we've had over the past 20-years (or even the current Chelsea or Spurs attacks).

Our defence is fine actually (after keeping a clean sheet)
We don't need a DM or another CM because Can/Grujic/ Henderson/ Klopp doesn't like them.
I'm glad we didn't sign anyone in January

There's been so many threads and posts defending Klopp's transfer activity and talking up the quality of individual players and the squad that I'm actually now fucking FURIOUS we haven't won the title.

The context of my post is explained in the last one I wrote in the Blind Faith thread, I didn't really mean it in a general sense - as has already been pointed out, everyone has a few horrendously stupid predictions and quotes in their posting history*

Sometimes it's fun to jump on the bandwagon of a new player. For example, using "Swagmonstar" for Origi. The majority of us are guilty of being overzealous in dishing out praise to a new signing. It's no big deal in my book. We all have history of becoming weak at the knees over a few poorly edited youtube clips or spending days camped out (in Oncy's tent) in a transfer thread. It's all just a bit of fun. We morphed into hyped up kids on Christmas Eve in the Balotelli thread when deep down we all probably knew it had disaster written all over it. Instead we said fuck it and went along for the ride. Albeit a fairly short lived ride we all now regret.

We gushed over the French starlets during Ged's reign. We've had plenty of false gods, messiahs and wunderkinds. We use hyperbole for the sake of emphasis and to create dramatic effect, well, because, it's just the internet. Personally, I was always inclined to jump on the new player bandwagon. I don't think I've ever really had the personal desire or motivation to argue with fellow fans against our own players. Well apart from Lucas during his dark days in a midfield with Mascherano being the exception perhaps.

Posts praising Frimino or Wijnaldum for example should not appear in a thread catered for 'most ridiculous forum quotes'. Both are fine players. I understand the thread is probably to provoke Ryan or Hansern or who ever said the original quotes but the thread should surely be a holding space to dig up actual ridiculous quotes, like when Glock claimed Freddy Adu was better than Wayne Rooney. Then again, it's hard to take anything Glock said seriously.

I'll have a think and try remember some old school ridiculous quotes but I'm worried I'll keep reverting back to the semi mental posters like Glock, rebel23 etc.

As ILD has stated, if we were to be judged on every opinion in here we'd all be in trouble. One only has to look at your efforts throughout this year in the match threads for evidence of that. Or your views on Lallana, 'Horrenderson', Danny Guthrie, etc... You've embarassed yourself as much as anyone, which you of course know. I don't mind making a ballsy prediction. It's easy to be the analytical one in hindsight Brendan. I can't seem to remember too many predictions from you though... 'I knew Mane would be great' isn't much to hang your hat on is it? Bully for you. Milner's been fucking rubbish for months now, and he's one of your favourites - I doubt I'll create a thread about it though.

Re Origi: he's got what, 12 goals this season? I said he'd get 15. Not really a hanging offence is it?

And I rate Firmino and Wijnaldum. They've both been poor the last 2-3 games - along with the rest of the squad, but have had very good seasons in my view.
 
I've got loads. The worst one is probably Downing. I still rate Firmino, Origi, Karius and Gini. But thats the fun about being a football fan and having opinions. I'll get loads of them wrong in the future aswell.

The "I'm always right" brigade who seldom go out on limb about a player with an opinion before we sign them (other than negative at least) are always quick to point out to those who believed that this could have been a good signing. But, as Ryan says, they're more wrong then right themselves anyway.

They can crack on with it if they feel it gives them something in return for all that I care. Point scoring on an internet forum when you're on your way to being 40 isn't really how I'll choose to spend my time on here.

There was a cracker about Niasse when Everton signed him last January. I was reminded by it when a certain someone said I wasn't very good at spotting talent. That "it looks like Everton cant go wrong with signing Niasse", or something along those lines, is well funny given how an horrendous transfer it turned out to be.
Cant find it now, so maybe it has deleted. Thats how wrong it was I guess.....

Some I'd lose, some I'd win. I'd be happy to discuss everything relevant regarding a player, but going through countless of old posts to prove a point is what a woman would do, or the very few sad keyboard warriors on here.
