[article=http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/victor-moses-tells-liverpools-brendan-2857602]Chelsea winger on loan at Anfield for the season has found himself on the subs' bench rather than in the team recently..

Victor Moses has told Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers he needs to start more often to realise his full potential.

Moses has been on the bench for the last three games after starting the first six following his season-long loan move from Chelsea.

The winger left Stamford Bridge because he felt he would he'd get more playing time with the Anfield giants and has now given his temporary manager a nudge.

“The main thing is to be on the pitch and enjoy my football,” he said. “That’s always been on my mind - to play games.

“There was only a little spell at Wigan, when I first signed there, when I wasn’t in the team every week.

“I’ve always gone to places for the football - places where I’m going to play. By playing, you learn.

“It may seem I’ve been around for a long time, but I’m still only 22. I think I can develop a lot more, but I realise to achieve that I’ve got to play as much as possible.”

Moses has been squeezed out because Rodgers has reshaped his midfield to accommodate the return from injury of playmaker Philippe Coutinho.

The former Wigan star - who has just been voted Nigeria's Footballer of the Year - refused to criticise Rodgers, and has no regrets about moving to Anfield.

“He’s a great manager to play under,” he said. “He’s very clear with the players. He knows what he wants us to do.

“There’s a winning mentality, but he also realises that if we are enjoying ourselves, we’re likely to do better.

“I’ve known him since I was 16 - when I was at Palace and he was at Chelsea.

"He really wanted me to go there. I said no a few times. I thought Palace was the best place for me at that time. But he never forgot about me.

"I was delighted when he came in for me again. There were a few clubs interesting in taking me, but when I heard about Liverpool, my decision was made straightaway.”

Moses, 22, is excited about Liverpool’s potential under Rodgers and feels they can challenge for the title.

“I wanted to be at a club that is fighting for trophies,” he said of the Reds, who are in second place after 12 matches. “There’s a lot of quality here and if we can keep the momentum going, I think we can challenge for the Premier League and, if not, finish in the top four.

“You have to believe you can be the best, otherwise there’s no point in trying.”[/article]

He will get game time for sure at the beginning of December when we seem to have 3 games in 7 days. Thing is he has been a bit disappointingly meh since his first game, hence why he is on the bench.

Didn't realise he's 'only' 22. To be honest, I would be pretty surprise if we sign him (and/or Cissokho) permanently.

Obviously now that he's been named Nigerian footballer of the year he feels he has a platform to express his discontent !

Like we care

I thought he'd be better than he has been. He always looked promising at Wigan

He's not really played much on the wing.

I'd give him some games

His work-rate (or lack of it) has been the most disappointing thing really. For a player sent on loan with an opportunity to get a run of games and prove a point, his lackadaisical manner is irritating.

He needs to come on, bust a gut and hope that his quality comes through.

Looks lazy to me.

Guess the only position to play him is if we're going 433 and he plays one wing whilst one of suarez/sturridge plays on the other.

Who would you play him instead of?
I'd go 442 and drop Gerrard against Hull, bring him on if needs be.

Lucas and Henderson in the centre, continue left, moses right, stugs and share central

He looked quite promising in his first match. Less so since. I would like to see him sent out with orders just to bomb down the wing and get a cross in. He seems to have drifted all over the place in recent appearances.

He & Allen are suffering from the same issue.

The results (if not necessarily performance) have dictated a formation or formations meaning they can't play where they should be playing.

If you play footballers in the wrong position, irregularly & shift them round then you are unlikely to see the best of them.

Thing is our team isn't set up for out and out wingers, the full backs are supposed to provide the width in our team, can't see him starting many matches at all this season unless we get injuries.

Cissoko as one poster said looks like he just took up football a few years ago. Moses is the definitely better but has tapered off..

I'd play this against hull but it'd piss one of our easy-to-upset strikers off:

.........................Migs
..............Toure...........Sakho
Johnson...........Lucas...........Flanno
..............Allen............Gerrard
Moses...............................Suarez
.....................Sturridge

So a 433 with the wingbacks

Gives Allen and Moses a runout to keep them happy.

Agree with @Silver Sean - we should turn the statement around to Victor. Show us your best when you play, and we will continue to play you. As mentioned, he looked lazy in the games we played. Granted, he was show horned in as a no. 10, but in that situation he should be working harder to try and prove himself, instead of letting those games just pass him by.

We have a problem in that we're not really playing formations that play to his strengths. He will get his chance though, as Studge is sure to have a few breakdowns along the way. Be nice to see BR unleash the 4-3-3 on occasion with Moses-Studge-Suarez and see how that goes down.

i would like to see hendo dropped, coutinho in the hole and moses joining SaS upfront.

Henderson has been one of our better players. I'd still like us to play a 4-2-2-2 with Coutinho and Henderson or Moses playing as wide attacking midfielders.

So a front 3 with Coutinho behind it?

Two midfielders then? I can't see how that could work defensively.

arsenal arguably have one midfielder (arteta) behind a bank of a attacking play. we are not arsenal, but if we premise on possession and attack, it could work...

Does anyone else think the thread title is a bit like something they would say on those late night adverts that feature scantily clad ladies?

Why can't we make the opposition worry about us for a change?

We tend to, when was the last time you saw us line up to worry about the opposition? You're confusing this current side with the ones put out by your mate, Rafa.

We shoehorned a front two into the formation to make sure both S&S played, regardless of what we were trying to do with the defense & midfield. We didn't put in a burly defender against Lukaku last week, when we probably should have, maybe then your other mate Agger might not got have got run ragged, but I guess we were trying too make sure the opposition worried about us. Too bad they looked at us and saw Allen and Lucas on the teamsheet and pissed themselves laughing.

Arsenal also play with 3 attacking midfielders, so there's never a lack of bodies in midfield.

...and then they noticed Henderson.
