I think it's a bit strange for the Nevilles, who work in media, get annoyed when the subject of their criticism responds to it..... in the media.

Isn't that what they would want?

And then Phil says that players can only respond - or "shoot their mouth off" - when they've played for a couple of seasons, as if there's some kind of Neville-approved time limit for being able to defend yourself when you've been criticised.

Its hardly the strangest thing related to that pair

P Neville also bizarrely contradicted himself about a minute later by saying that Karius should have played well for a couple of subsequent games and then responded.

So that's not two seasons then is it?

Still, I don't really give a fuck what Phil Neville says and neither should Karius / Klopp. I'm a bit more miffed by Carra tbh.

Chris Sutton - whom I never expected to become a good pundit but has been a breath of fresh air, amusing, self-deprecating and sensible - said all that needed to be said on the subject yesterday:

Why am I not surprised?!

But, yeah, Sutton speaks sense a lot of the time.

We all thought Klopp and co were mental to give Mingolet a new contract. We pawned it off as just a ploy to give Mingolet some confidence until we signed a new keeper. Other reasons as to why Mingolet got a new contract were suggested but either way, we wanted Klopp to address our goalkeeping situation.

We signed Karius and we all presumed he was signed as our new #1. A highly rated young keeper from Germany. He ticked a good few boxes on paper. Karius didn't travel to the Olympics with Germany and it all pointed towards him starting the season as our #1. Unfortunately he broke his wrist and Mingolet was back in pole position. Mingolet actually played okay during those game but lets not forget, we all wanted to sign a new keeper. We did, he was just currently injured. Karius returned from injury, played a league cup game or whatever it was and was awarded the #1 position. He did okay at first but didn't overly inspire confidence. I was furious with him for the last two games. It's a shame it turned out this way. I really wanted Karius to be this uber confident German keeper that we could count on. I'm really not sure at all about him.

However, he should retain his place because Mingolet is no better in the long run.

Klopp and Liverpool have to be clever, Neville is obviously pissed we are above them and is looking for any way to snipe us to plant a seed of doubt within Melwood.

Ignore the little ratfaced shit and just get on with our jobs.

Im surprised Klopp let Neville get under his skin....

Speaking of pundits. There arent many better than good ol' Michael.

We should sign that Abaggyman. He's ace.

If Karius or Mignolet play for about six weeks you half forget how shit the other one was. Like getting semi hard for a mental ex.

"Simon Mignolet: Has made more errors that have led directly to a goal (10) than any other player in the last 4 Premier League seasons"

Hes a fucking CERT to have a shit game.
We have 2 shit keepers.
I think Ming is far less shit.

Its actually 2....

As said in the other thread it could be a good call by Klopp.
Karius is young and has time on his side. Take him out of the spotlight and rebuild his confidence.

Hopefully Ming is less shite than usual.

Bollocks its 2! Unless you are counting just the last game.

I think Ming has made more saves here in half an hour than Karius has all season.
It will still go wrong somehow though.

Well, putting Ming back in goal seemed like the right choice.
Pat yourselves on the back Ming voters.

I guess Karius was dropped more with the derby in mind rather than this game. If he's going to be dropped, don't make it the headline before the Everton game. But his confidence must surely be shot behind the scenes for this to have happened. On the one hand, well done Klopp for being ruthless. But in my opinion he messed up by throwing him in rather than letting him play in cup games and breathe down Ming's neck. The next step has got to be decisive and definitive.

Id not heard mignolet call for a ball before over the tele, until tonight. He was vocal, commanded his area well, did the simple bits well enough and made one great save and a couple of standard saves, there is absolutely no reason whatsoever for karius now to start ahead of him.

Klopp has made the tough call ,its paid off tonight, he now needs to stick by his decision until one of the two keepers proves otherwise.

Karius

Klopp: "I know how strong #Karius is, but he couldn't show it in the last few games. Judging him in this moment makes no sense." #LFC

If ming is starting ahead of him, his career here is done.
