They looked absolutely goosed, and for some reason they're playing this weekend and Wednesday again. Arsenal and Everton.

I have been surprised to see the likes of Aguero, Fernandinho, Silva etc playing these cup games.
They havnt rested at all. World cup, straight into the season, no breaks and the main players are playing almost every game.

I get that they are still in those competitions so could well have the last laugh, but christ these lads arent young right? Id be surprised if they arent fucked given two games a week all season at their age.

Well THAT was a surprise. It won't work well for Rafa long term - I mean, the number of games when he's shown pretty much zero interest in competing with a top side, it's huge - so questions will surely be asked as to why he didn't get the same kind of result against lesser teams. Maybe sentiment actually did move him to wake up from his local political nightmare to do us a favour, but, whatever happened, thank goodness for that.

I started getting messages from my Father-in-law whilst the missus and i were watching Silent Witness. I knew it was something good. It was something wonderful. I think the key thing we can take out of this is despite the press still talking about Pep and City like they're supermen, they've lost 4 from their last 10 league games. They're not going to go the rest of the season without dropping some points, especially fighting on four fronts. We just need to win tomorrow. I don't care if it is scruffy, just give us the win red men.

Was thinking the same .. a result like that will make the owner of that place just question Rafa more. I mean the cost comparison between the two teams is just fucking huge.

Everton will roll over and die for City so that's not a tough game for them

I just wonder who's going to slip and fall this time and in what match.

We have Chelsea at home near the end again!

It would be very Liverpool if arguably our greatest ever player cost us the title and never lifted it only for one of our least talented captains to lift after taking over.

How funny would it be to see Hendo loft the title.

Shame we will implode starting tomorrow.

Leicester will roll back the clock tomorrow and put in a performance worthy of that title winning side. 1-3 Leicester

Really?

I think he is quite consistent, and gets reasonably decent performances, with predictably defensive, well organized play. His teams rarely get embarrassed, and they lose a lot by one goal. They just aren't very good player by player, and if the handful of their decent attacking players are neutralized, or are having an off day, their chances are a 0-0 draw or a loss. They can't chase a game, and they can't consistently break down a defense with possession , they need space to attack into.

WOOOHHOOOOOO... never in my wildest dream we can get a result from Newcastle. KAMON YOUR REDS!!!!

Yesterday having returned from Thailand to get back home at 10 pm... absolutely knackered... I clicked on Youtube and watched Klopp's pre-match presser...

I found myself worrying about Leicester and our defensive injuries when facing Vardy...

And feeling nervous and pessimistic...

Here today at work clicked onto the newspaper sports pages not certain if we were ( or anyone else) playing last night or tonight and semi-fearful of receiving bad news...

To discover that I still retain an undying love of Rafa.

Muchisimas Gracias Benitez!! Once a Red always a Red!!

COME ON THE REDS!!

LET'S BEAT THESE LEICESTER FUCKERS.

My thoughts exactly. It will be a tricky match tomorrow and doubly so because of the City result – it seems when they play first they put additional pressure on us regardless of the whether they win, lose or draw. It will be a test of mental strength for many of our players, particularly with Milner not there.

The narrative was that City would sweep all in front of them. They wouldn't drop points.

We would be the first to crack.

We can drop points down the line, at Old Trafford or Chelsea/Spurs, but we can't tomorrow. It would be a mental blow given what's happened tonight. It's the first game tomorrow where i think there will be genuine pressure. Both in the crowd and on the players.

Tomorrow, it would be nice if could send out a statement win that we are not feeling the pressure.
.........

Nah. On the contrary. Without feeling they absolutely MUST win to maintain the gap this now works in our favour and they will feel a little less of that high pressure, they have breathing space. Klopp will of course have them up for yet another 'cup final' but I think we'll see the pressure off in an improved performance. 3-0.

I was thinking the same. Why do you need to beat minnows by 7, 8 or 9 goals ? They didn't look at the races at all yesterday (though I couldn't watch after Newcastle equalised - I just left the TV on and listened whilst on the computer).

Whilst City are giving their top players run outs in nearly every game ours had an 11 day breather and with another 10 day breather to come in February. Those breaks could be the landmarks in ensuring our players have the stamina to last the season.

Is the Everton game the one from the league cup final weekend? I was wondering when they was supposed to squeeze it in late season.

City looked very tired in the second half and out of ideas. Its a shame Arsenal and Everton are both shite, but who knows..
