Midfielders other than Bellingham

While wearing cleats, boot cut jeans, a ridiculously large watch, being paid for by both Nike, shirt sales and money Barca owe us while pointing out he’s two-footed, would definitely be in our best XI and isn’t a flabby melt.

Graham will be pictured shouting at him in the background.
Only fitting way to welcome a world class, generational talent.

All teams should hold Chelsea to ransom and not pay inflated fees. They will be desperate to offload players to recoup some of their outlay and also still intend spending in the summer

It would be hilarious if they lost Mount on a free next summer, and Colwill the next. Meanwhile they are still daydreaming of signing Caicedo

The emergency room?

In early 2020, Mane was having breakfast with Keita at Melwood when one of the staff came over to inform the midfielder they were going to step up his rehab that morning with a light jog around the training field. Much to Mane's amusement, Keita replied: "Yeah, yeah, I like eggs."

There was another occasion when medical staff were chasing up scan results only to learn that he hadn't been scanned at all after misunderstanding the instructions he had been given. A staff member returned to the private hospital with him.

Keita based himself in a house in Formby, around 13 miles from Liverpool, but later also acquired a city centre apartment. He certainly found it difficult to settle on Merseyside after arriving with his younger brother Petit, who effectively looked after his older sibling. However, there's a sense that he could have been more proactive in terms of making that adaptation process easier, especially when it came to learning English. [James Pearce]

I don't understand the language acquisition part of things at all.

Keita should have had a course in english for the medical professions.

It's such an easy problem to solve. Find a very attractive language teacher. It worked for me.

But it doesn't happen for lots of people, because it's hard and they will isolate themselves.

It should be a requirement. They need intermediate language skills, it's not like training the CIA.

I think you’re underestimating the individual psychological factors involved in settling in a new country / league etc.

I'm not, but this is one part of it that is just solvable, easily solvable, for not very much money.

And, while you can adapt to a place without speaking the language well, its much more likely if you do. The fact that it's necessary professionally too, and... they should just be doing it. One piece among many, but a critical one.

Ah, but people unconsciously avoid or sabotage, especially when displaced or overawed by change.

You cant compare someone like you and me settling into a new culture and a person making 500,000 per month minimum settling into Liverpool. Most urban areas on the planet (outside of the obvious war torn and unsafe ones) are amazing to live if you make more than half a million per month. Also, if he wanted to learn English, all he needed to do was raise his hand and the club would probably arrange a tutor to come to his house at his convenience and teach him.

And it is not like he was required to recite Keats and the classics by the second year. All he needed to learn was the basics of communication needed for football tactics and the frequent visits to the hospitals.

He shouldn't have to raise his hand. It surely must be obligatory.

Brilliant, there’s another one we’re not getting

Don’t go all BlueMoronVan and get angry over us not signing a player we weren’t trying to sign in the first place and was only linked to us by some weirdo on Twitter.

I’m not, I do genuinely think we were after him. My belief is that we are only interested in players with set fees because we hate bidding against anyone and we made a big song and dance about mostly only being interested in players with PL experience after being linked with Ugarte.

Plus i ate 15 jaffa cakes yesterday which is Ugartes shirt number…

Even though I said we'd be linked heavily with him, Neil Jones has said we want Prem proven. You also have Smackhead coming who will no doubt influence proceedings. Missing out on Ugarte isn’t the issue, it would have turned in to an auction.
According to Neil Jones, the players on the list are Lavia and Gravenberch. Both u21 year old, Lavia will be considered home grown.
The window hasn't even opened, some players would rather play for a team in the CL over us, that's the way it is.
Before we draw conclusions let's see who we get in. Even with a £100m net spend you can get Ali Mac, Yusuf Fofana, Endicka and Kamada

There are a lot of rumours around Liverpool tapping up Ugarte which would explain that prem proven nonsense right after the links to him.
