Could we get Asamoah, the Ghanaian midfielder? Don't know who he plays for at the moment, or how much he'd cost, but I think he'd suit the Prem and be a cracking signing if it were possible.

ILD, good shout on Diego Lopez. If Asamoah's not a possibility, Lopez would probably be next on my list.

I've mentioned him a good few times JJ. He plays for Udinese at the moment (excellent season just gone), is young, energetic, snappy in the tackle and has a cultured left foot. He'd be a wonderful signing.

Would probably cost about 17-20m and would be worth every penny.

West Ham have confirmed that they have turned down an offer from Spurs for Scott Parker, and say that he is not for sale at any price

He has said he wants to talk to us though, if we make a bid.

Has he?

In any case, I've always quite liked Parker, but we should have pushed harder to get him earlier.
The price now will be prohibitive,a nd we should get Defour instead and offer £15m for him.

Ha, you're quite right. It's not a quote as you thought, sorry for that old chum my bad. It's from the Times, and it said that even though West Ham wouldn't sell, Parker would like to talk to us about a move to Merseyside.

I only found it in Norwegian, so appols for no link.

Have you ever heard messi speak? he actually sounds like a retarded clingon.

I'd go fo Banega and he's probably our best option for under 10 million. Javi Martinez would cost us a whole lot more.

I would insist on Cambiasso in any Mascherano deal. They can keep Muntari!

They paid 18M Euros for him.

Scott Parker remains a wanted man despite #whufc's refusal to sell to #spurs today. #avfc and #lfc are certainly interested in him. 36 minutes ago via web

If #lfc follow up their interest in Scott Parker with a concrete offer, then the player would be keen to discuss a move to Anfield 3 minutes ago via web

I liked a few of the mexicans during the world cup Marquez obviously but would cost a fortune and probably not wish to leave Barca, their left back looked class also, Salcido was it? Would love to see Gervinho also from ivory coast for our gaping striker problem. That's all three positions we need covered although I suspect we will not get anywhere near the money required to buy those.

Big fan of Banega I think we should definitely try for him but he won't move cheaply.

I think it's a given, sadly, that Lucas is here to stay in our midfield so to a degree I would certainly go along with the idea that our top priority should be an attacking player as cover for Torres. If we get good money for Mash and that money is not swallowed up ( absolutely no guarantee of this) we should be able to fill two holes out of the three left in the side with reasonable quality.

I wonder how much we could get that big slow teddy bear Huddlestone for. He looks a player these days.

I was just thinking of him as I browsed through this thread. Would spurs let him go though? He'd probably cost the best part of of 20 million considering the "english factor" and his age. I think he'd be great.

As a replacement for Masher? I think we'd be better off with someone who could run and tackle

Does the replacement have to be a carbon copy of Masher? Huddlestone maybe slow but I think it would be harsh to say he cant tackle. He's certainly better at passing and would offer more of a threat in positions further up the pitch.

No, I never said it had to be a carbon copy or exactly "like for like".

However, I'd be reticent to go for a "nothing like"

Huddlestone is a brilliant passer of the ball, and after they banned Jaffa cakes at the lunchroom at WHL he actually looks like a footballer.

Ha, well he isn't.

Spurs get decent fees for their players. We'd be talking of 20M+, and he's not worth that

Also why would he ditch CL football for us?

It's a non-starter from the word go. May as well be talking about Messi.

------------------Torres-------------
----Cole Gerrard---Aquilani---Maxi--
----------------NEW DM----------------

If we're looking at playing that, the new DM will have to be very defensive minded, moreso than Defour, Banega & Martinez I'd have thought. It all depends on how Roy sees Alberto and Lucas.
