Noone fancy Banega?
Most fucking definitely, he has been great in La Liga this season. Although they would have to get rid of webcams at Melwood.

Anyone but Parker, his legs are far to short for someone with a head that big. L.Diarra would do.
Diarra looks like a dolphin. Is that what you want?..........a dolphin playing in midfield

thats the ideal replacement there, looks like hyypia in that picture too

I quite liked the look of that dirty Uruguayan bastard in the WC, I think he was called Perera. Anyway, you can't tell much from a WC.

Some midfield general he's turned into! Id love if he came to us!

From the world cup..the dm for chile was good I thought. Can't remember the name.

The mexican CM Gerrado Torrado certainly has the name for the job.

if we replace him, whoever it is will be a step backwards and weaken the side. it'd make more sense to forget about him and get an attacking player instead. that at least has a chance of improving the team
We still need a holding player, it'd be ridiculous not to. No one is saying it has to be someone out and out defensive (like Masher), but we need someone who can cover the back four and track back, the suggestion throughout is that what we might sacrifice in defensive quality, we might gain in a bit more of a rounded midfielder (like Parker).
Are you saying he is over-weight ? We had one of those in Insua, look how that worked out !

I forgot about Cattermole. I'd much rather have him than Parker.
I started a thread on here about 12 - 18 months or so ago about Cattermole - it now makes interesting reading considering how most thought he was shite, over-rated and too expensive. I wanted him to replace Lucas as our 4th MF.

I like Lee Catermole - quality player in my book and still learning. He would be a great back-up to / for Gerrard, when SG is injured / needing a rest or being subbed. I think he'd get plenty of other games too. When SG is out we really don't have any other player that can offer anything similar (even though on a lower level of course) and our style of play changes. We have recently seen what happens when SG and xabi are missing. We're flat.

I don't know why Middlesbro sold him (for 3.5M) but at 20 yrs old and with 7 appearances for England's U21's I think this kid has a bright future. For us he would offer a lot of what we saw was lacking against Fulham; energy, aggression, creativity and the lad gets himself into the box and can shoot too. We can't / won't have a team full of Galacticos so a few of these types of players, EPL savvy and with bags of talent, would make a far better bench than we saw at the weekend. And as I've said already he would get 30+ games a season at least.

Christ 15M ?!? No not at all - but that's probably a much inflated figure anyway. Under 10M OK. He sounds like a young SG. I like this bit :

"Even if I'm not captain I'm exactly the same," he says. "I always give my all and I don't like losing. In fact, I hate losing. You've got to play with passion and spirit and I will always roll up my sleeves and give it a good go. Where it comes from, I just don't know. But it's there all the time, in every match."

We could do with more of that sometimes.

Almost everyone shot me down. Ryan big time and I think only Brendan had a good word to say about him. I still like him, but not sure he can play even as a more attack minded DM, he's seems to play in far in a more advanced position than that.

Scweinsteiger isn't a typical ball winning midfielder though, he's like Alberto and would need a more defensive midfielder next to him.

I'd sign;

Khedira
Parker
Defour
Miguel Veloso
Cambiasso (if Inter would accept that)
Keita (if Barca would accept that)

1) Schweinsteiger
2) De Rossi
3) L.Diarra

Anyone of those would be an improvement...and sadly just a dream.

I'm not very fond of Cat or Mole.
Gene Hughes surely has copyright on that gag?

Diego Lopez played well in the world cup. Playing for Monaco at the moment I think and is tough as nails.

Banega or Defour would add class to our midfielder. Always like Parker but his age and price could be a hindrance.

Anyone but Poulsen, don't really like him at all. Sorry KHL.

If he goes to Inter wouldnt that be the obvious move for both clubs?

He was excellent anytime I've seen him in the last two seasons. Since he moved centrally he added a lot of steel to his game.

Could we get Asamoah, the Ghanaian midfielder? Don't know who he plays for at the moment, or how much he'd cost, but I think he'd suit the Prem and be a cracking signing if it were possible.

ILD, good shout on Diego Lopez. If Asamoah's not a possibility, Lopez would probably be next on my list.

There isn't a replacement for Masch as he's he's one of, if not the best at DM. As we don't have enough cash to replace him we'll have to look for a capable journeyman to plug the gap. Parker or Cattermole would be good but are they available and affordable?
He's still shite, overrated, too expensive. But now he's injury prone too. Super.

Can't agree with that at all mein Herr. Not at all. Good young English player who wouldn't cost a fortune and is miles and miles better than Lucas. Even if he shouldn't be a direct replacement for Masherano.
I'm just fucking around fishy. I don't really have an opinion on him. But fwiw I'm better than Lucas too so that's no advertisement.

West Ham have confirmed that they have turned down an offer from Spurs for Scott Parker, and say that he is not for sale at any price
