20m plus Bojan is a good deal. He's going to be a terrific footballer.
I very much doubt that, there is a very good reason Barca are willing to let him go.

Is Bojan really worth over £10 million?

I wonder if he'll b as good as Giovani dos Santos.

Ha!

A season or two ago, they were the next big things.
Mascherano's agent, Walter Tamer, held talks on Wednesday with Barca general manager Raul Sanlehy and sporting director Txiki Begiristain, who will offer around £20m plus possibly striker Bojan Krkic.
I don't mind £25m plus thierry henry.

If Barca are willing to offer Bojan as part of the Masch deal, we should bite their hands off. He is one player I would like to sign most this summer and will become a special player, he's already that good. He would rip up the Premiership and is still very young. The comparisons with Dos Santos are very unfair.

I wouldn't accept £20m and Bojan though as Barca would seriously need to up the anti. Not saying Bojan isn't worth £15m, especially in today's market, just that Masch has got a few years left on his contract and the deal has to be in our favour and not Barca's. £30m and Bojan is what we should be looking for.

We should be pushing to get Henry as part of the deal too.

He's the player you want most? I find that really strange.

What makes you think he's so good that he could destroy Prem defences?

just take the money. no player exchanges unless its one of the 'fab four'.

'cept Ringo. He can fuck off.

Bojan is worlds appart from Gio. Theres a very good reason they refused to let him leave even on loan, and that spain fought to get him to play for them. Because they rate him highly.
He hasnt played a lot last year with the form of their big 3, but i watched him a lot the year before and he is a fine player who can play in 4 positions and has everything in his game to be a star.

Henry would be the ideal player for us at the moment.

Can play on the left or up front, doesn't need to play every single game, pace, Premiership proven.

We probably could squeeze a few years out of him, but ultimately he'd be short term solution to the left side.

I'm not completely in favour of the idea of selling a a defensive midfielder for an attackers as it doesn't solve the problem created by Mascharano's departure.

Not neccessary a short term solution, if we let Babel be his understudy. Hopefully that can help Babel to finally fulfill his potential.

If we have enough attackers in our squad, the rely on defensive midfielder like Mascherano will be lesser. I really don't mind player like Guthrie or Spearing to be his replacement, they might not be world class but so was darren fletcher.

Bojan is a very good prospect, but is he really what we need? Why on earth should we add another player to our squad, that we can't really use. And I've doubts about his future development to be honest. He's more suited to the La Liga tbh.

If we're going to sell him, it should be with either Henry or Toure coming the other way, or just the cash.

^^^^^^^

Spot on.

I must admit to being disappointed with the manner in which the player has misled the club and it's fans, saying how happy he is to be here whilst his agent is working on his departure.

He can fuck off as far as I'm concerned.

12.09: Got some more on the Mascherano story - El Mundo Deportivo says Real Madrid are set to upset Barcelona by making Liverpool 'an offer they can't refuse' for the Argentine.

12.34: There's requests for more info on the El Mundo Deportivo story on Mascherano. Apparently, the Madrid offer seems to be about €35m, although we have no idea if there's any truth to it all. The same paper says Barca remain in pole position to sign Ribery.

LOL

As long as we get an appropriately large transfer fee I'm not that bothered about Mascherano as long as Alonso stays.

Every time I've seen Bojan, he's looked like a lost little boy who's accidentally strayed into a men's football match.

Short term solution ? If that means winning the EPL next season then I'm all for it.

25 million plus Eto'o assuming Eto'o wage demands are acceptable.

Imagine an attacking triad of Torres, Eto'o and Gerrard.

I think that's extremely ambitious even taking Eto'o's contract into account.
