by the time xabi leaves the entire liverpool fanbase will have labelled him shit and will scratch their heads why/how he survived at anfield as long as he did.
What a load of fucking cunt.

Xabi's fine, a top player. I have no problem with him. Most of his fans are cunts though.

Mate he has 27 yes TWENTY SEVEN assists. Xabi doesn't have that in his whole career.
Are you illiterate?
No but I couldn't let a comparison between Xabi and Xavi go without pointing out that there is a very real difference which relates exactly to the point that oncy was making even though you invented some arbitrary caveats to exclude that very real difference.
Funnily enough, I was searching for one of my posts the other day and came across our midfielder debate from a while back, which had you admitting in the end that you don't really know what you're talking about.

Not much has changed I see.

Arbitrary caveats that I 'invented', eh? Let's examine that point shall we.

1) Alonso is a holding midfielder. Xavi is not. True or False?

Alonso has taken Senna's role in the Spanish side. Alonso plays a holding role for us in a 4-2-3-1. Xavi doesn't really take on the role of a defensive midfielder in either side. True.

2) In the last couple years, Xavi has been asked to get forward more and this has benefitted his stats. True or False?

I watch a lot of Barca and you see Xavi in and around the box a lot more than you used, making late third man runs and so forth. This has been commented on by the commentators numerous times as well as others. True yet again.

3) If you go back a couple years, Xavi's stats are not too dissimilar to Alonso's. True or False?

Go and find out.

So what can we deduce from the above?

Well, Xavi plays a role that allows him more freedom to get involved at the end of moves and this in a more attacking formation. Furthermore, his TWENTY SEVEN assists have come in a ridiculous record season for Barca.

The comparison was made to illustrate that Xavi has always been about orchestrating his teams play whether he does it from deep or further up the field.
What we can deduce is that Xavi has 27 assists and is now considered one of the best players in the world. Xabi doesn't have 27 assists in his career. The point was made Xabi has little end product. That is true. Xavi has end product that is true. Time phase all you want, Xavi can play through balls, Xabi does not. Taking Xabi out of our team is taking out 10 goals max.

We've had two ridiculous seasons in one we outscored all english teams in the next we were he highest scorers in the premiership. Xabi's contribution. Closer to Lucas and Reina than Gerrard and Torres.

Again caveat it how you want, talk about starting positions this that, 20 meters, 30 meters, 60 meters. Xavi shit assists, Xabi shits passes. To compare the two is a joke. Anyone can see that.

This seems ( from reaading pissed) an argument as to who is the better Xabi.

The one from barca is possibly the best midfielder in the world.

I include Gerrard.

end of.

You mean the same club who signed Gabriel Heinz, Mohammed Diarra, Raul Bravo etc yeah, they never EVER sign players who are less than perfect ay?
So you tell me, what does Xabi do other than get it-pass it?
Score? nope
Create/assist? nope
Quality set pieces? nope
Win it back? nope
Great tackles? nope
so what? What am i missing? He gets it, he passes it. Thats it, thats what he does. His passing most of the time is sublime, long or short. But thats what he does. The aura of Xabi that exists on scm is a lot better than the actual Xabi. I mean its a wonder we've managed to lose ANY of the trophies available to us this past 4 years what with this all conquering hero god in the middle of the park tearing teams assunder with his astonishing range of skills.
I say again. He gets it. He passes it. End of fucking list.

Im sorry i missed this one man. Im sure it was just super.

Yes, by blerts like yourself who read his stats and went "ooh, he MUST be good". Xavi was always one of the best midfielders around - even when his stats were poor. Like Alonso's.

I have to log off.

Fucking assists. An American invention to simplify a too complicated concept.

Throw that in as well if you like Skully.

Why has everyone misread Schneider/ Negredo + 22m to make it Schneider + Negerdo + 22m ?

I'd take those two and 10m, especially if we could nick Flamini for that sort of money too

Mate you are the one that compared Xavi and Xab.................... and then proceeded to list all the reasons why they can't be compared. Blert me?

The facts are still, on the green thing, for us, in our team, with our players and our tactics, what oncy says is pretty much spot on. He may be some godlike player in a time phased, caveat laden internet posted alternate reality but the fact of the matter is, in the real world, he switches play to the flanks, he hands-off to Gerrard, hangs around the edge of the box and shoots wide.

He's called a playmaker for a reason and it's as much a statement of his limitations as it is his undoubted qualities.

I've explained it and you still don't seem to understand. Why is that?

I was using Xavi as an example to show that there are players that on the face of things, don't seem to be doing all that much, but in actual fact are hugely important to their sides.

As for his stats this season, why bring them up when I said in my very first post that due to various reasons, he's improved hugely in that respect over the last two years? Why are you trying to explain to me what I blatantly already know?

Barca won two league titles and a CL playing wonderful football under Rijkaard and Xavi wasn't up there in the stats charts. That's what I was talking about.

Question 1: What have you got to say about *that* Xavi? Without the 27 assists to fall back on and caveats shmveats. Let's have an answer finally.

Question 2:What would you say if Alonso moved to Real and ended up with 20 assists feeding Benzema, Ronaldo and Kaka? Don't start arguing about why it won't happen etc. I don't think it would either. Hypothetical scenario - what would you say?

OK, OK, I give in Xabi is as good as Xavi was when he didn't used to setup goals. 😉

I'd say in the business of winning games the player with 27 assists is a better than the one who didn't get 27 assists.

Question 2:What would you say if Alonso moved to Real and ended up with 20 assists feeding Benzema, Ronaldo and Kaka? Don't start arguing about why it won't happen etc. I don't think it would either. Hypothetical scenario - what would you say?

I'd say, Rafa you tosser, how could you have not deployed him so he did this for us. And that is the crux of it. This is not about Xabi, it is about Xabi playing for LFC in the role he plays for LFC with LFC players alongside him. That is what we will be losing next year not Xabi as he might perform at Madrid with a different manager.

so ye boffed his da instead!!!

I find it amusing how the same people who have been singing Alonso's praises all season are now undermining his ability and reverting to the kind of rubbish we saw spouted about him this time last season.

He was voted our player of the season this year ahead of captain fantastic, and yet suddenly he's easily replaceable.

Ridiculous.
