If he was working with children or vulnerable adults then being on the sex offenders register (which I believe he is) would I assume bar him from going back to his old job. It doesn't bar him from being a professional footballer again.
The people who have to take a moral judgement are the clubs as to whether they wish to take him on and his agent as to whether he wishes to retain him as a client. The latter seems to have made his decision, which is fair enough, its his business. The former I am sure will weigh up whether its worth having someone so unpleasant employed by them with the fact that he will probably score some goals for them and won't cost a huge amount.
