Mascher was a monster in games where teams tried to outplay us. He would snap ancles for a full ninty minutes, and if the ref had awarded 10 more he would keep it going. Then it wouldnt matter if Lucas played or not. The problem is when we are to dictate games. When we are to set the pace and try to run over temas. Then Mascher has his limitations. Then it does matter if Lucas plays or not.

However Poulsen will never play any monstermatch a la Mascher. Nevermind if Lucas is there or not.

I'm with rage hard, poulsen looks unbelievably shit. not being used to the english league is no excuse for misplacing passes from 5 yards. it's like bren says, just when you shift one player who is so shocking it defies belief (insua) another arrives to take his place. early days for poulsen, but fuck me, he looks fucking rubbish...
 
Play Cole on the left and he will have a field day. Jova does not look very effective and Babel is not reliable, so Cole on the left with Gerrard behind Torres for me.

I agree O' Shea is a better defender but i'm hoping Glen can iron out these lapses in concentration he seems to suffer from. Johnson is miles better in an attacking threat. (I know, I know, a defenders job is to defend first).

I'm a big fan of O'Shea, I think i've defended him on here in the past when some (including you, I think) slated him. However, I reckon Johnson is the all round better player. He is looking defensively suspect for us lately but there is one hell of a player in him.

[/quote]Im not slating him. Problem is he is so poor defensively that when he underperforms as he is going forward he really looks a waste of 18m.
We forgive him his lapses at the back when he is dynamic going forward. At this minute hes a shite defender who looks overwieght and lazy going forward................so same as last years LB then.

Torres seemed to get unfairly panned for lack of effort in the brum game in my opinion. Ok, he was shit, but I thought the effort was there. Johnson on the other hand didn't get out of first gear. I didn't notice him sprint once, he just strolled up and down all afternoon and looked slower than me.
