According to the Echo, Torres and Reina will be rested on thursday.

Jones, Meireles and N'Gog are expected to start.

It could be Kenny Dalglish and we'd still get tonked.

Yes because Utd smashed Fulham and Everton this season.

And we don't have J Cole coming in or Raul replacing Lucas.

It will be a tight game that we are capable of winning.

Least not forget Torres scores at OT for fun.

We were worse last year and only went down a goal.

I think they are in decline and we can certainly get something.

Our big players love going there.

JC also loves scoring there. He scored the winner there last year and he scored another notable goal against them there.

Plus he'll be dying to help us out of a slump. Torres will be up for it.

If Lucas and Maxi are dropped I give a great chance of winning.

It all depends on the team Roy picks. If we go there trying to play football, with a team of footballers then we might get away with something. If we turn up with Lucas and Poulsen in midfield trying to "control" the midfield, we'll lose with 2 or 3 goals.

There are plenty of good footballers at this club, we just need them to start a match together.

Agreed. We need to be bold. We have to show ambition, Meireles and Cole must feature. This mentality of trying to keep the point we start the game with and telling ourselves we need to be patient and then eventually when everything in the house is in order we'll be ok is fantasy.

Let the real Liverpool FC turn up at Old Trafford, not some weak, cautious outfit afraid of it's own shadow. We can have heart even if we don't have a pot to piss in.

Well said, both you fellas. We can do this if we're brave enough to try. If we aren't, we'll get what we deserve.

Can't say I am confident at all about this game but stranger things have happened. We might be able to get a point!

So long as that jinxing cunt KHL doesn't come on posting positive stuff saying we are going to win and go unbeaten forever then i think we have a chance. We will have to have our top players on top of their game mind.

we'll try to keep it tight as long as possible with no ambition of our own, all the while giving manu the ball (repeatedly) and asking their attackers to break us down. sounds exciting, can't wait!

And go on a unbeaten run lasting till christmas

Not my proudest moment on here.

I blame the players.

That would be foolish. You can get at this manc side. Fulham and Everton both had some joy when they went at them.

I'm beginning to think that you just alternate between positive and negative stances each season. It's like you just pick one and run with it, irrespective of what's happening on the pitch. For the record, I much prefer this one.

I think we're mostly a bit disappointed by Hodgson's team selections and especially his defeatist talk.

But it's not over yet, hopefully he can instil a bit of belief especially when our better players return.

And whilst we make comparisons to our best ever managers like Shankly, we must remember that our best managers have often had to rebuild before making brash claims about being the best.

I see that shit for brains Atkinson has been demoted to fourth official for his fuck up at Goodison.

It'd be great if Torres scored the winner to shut everyone up.
[/quote]It would be great if any of ours scored the winner regardless of the motive.
Im really not worried about our team now to be honest, its got some real class about it in Torres, Gerrard, Meireles, Cole, its got some grit about it in Kuyt, Jovanovic, Skrtel, Konchesky and it has a few players who can hopefully become integral, or at least play the Ji Sung Park role of not being shit when called upon in Maxi, Poulsen, Babel. And although im a bit down on our youth emergence being as we never see any actually emerge, it has to be said that in Pacheco, Ecclestone, Amoo, Sterling, Shelvey, Suso etc it really does look like we have a decent chance of breaking one or two of them through. We also have good centre backs and the best keeper in the world so its not any of that that worries me. Its the manager and his (so far) insistance on TWO holding midfielders. It reminds me of an Eddie izzard sketch where the nazis are advancing on Leningrad (echoing napolean who was defeated by the cold) -
*marching forwards*
'Ive got a better idea, ive got a better idea'
*retreating from the cold*
'Oh its the same idea the same idea'

Didnt work last year. Wont work this year.
Time to play some players who can play to give defenders more to do than kick torres for 90 minutes.

if he starts with both lucshit and pooson then we have no chance.

time to grow a set old man and put out a team that is capable of winning a game. i'd rather we lose 6 nil than see a cowardly lineup that only loses by 2.

I think I'd prefer to lose 2-0 than 6-0.

Mind you, if we get beat 6-0, then the calls for Budgie to get the boot will get louder and louder

It's bizarre that the only game we've played an attacking formation was against City away - which was the one game you'd expect a defensive set up.

I'd rather we play a cagey game on Sunday and try and do them on the break. I mean when we dicked them 4-1, apart from the free kick, the goals all came from some fucker hoofing it 60 or 80 yards towards someone on the break.

i was thinking of the city game. we went 2 nil down and any other manager with a bit of courage would have changed it. he didn't and we lost 3 nil. in such circumstances i'd rather go down fighting than curling into a little ball playing damage limitation

I had the pleasure of re-watching that match in my house with a Utd fan. He was still in complete disbelief at the scoreline the second time round.
