Manchester City v Liverpool Match Thread

Why the fuck Klopp chose Hendo over Fabinho, I have no idea. Arm flapping aside he's done SFA. Passing from MF to the forwards has stunk the place up too ; Milner, Firmino, Gini and Hendo all to blame.

Klopp needs to rejig that midfield.

I said the obvious pre match, over and over, that City are going to overload on TAA and that's where all the problems are coming from with Silva, Sane, B Silva and Aguero all combining to get through time and again.

Robbo has done superbly against Sterling/Aguero etc. so far.

Fuck it ... they are ahead ... lets fuck these cunts up... i have had enough... they got one massive cunt in the middle surrounded by midgits. Lets fuck em up !!!

I think Gini has been good, but there's little he can do when he has three players bearing down on him, which has often been the case.

I dunno, I guess I'm talking about the occasions where a good touch and decisive action with the ball would've seen him come away with it rather than losing it.

You don't get time or space in games like these - we need to be a lot better.

I'm not defending Hendo here, but Fabinho struggled against a fast paced Arsenal last week, this City team are twice as fast, it was the right call.

No, it clearly wasn't. Fabs has far more control and he didn't struggle vs. Arsenal, he made 2-3 poor passes in the first 20 mins and then controlled the midfield with Gini. Klopp should have stuck with the double pivot and then played whoever he liked ahead of them (preferably Milner on the RM to help out TAA).

Yeah, I'm not sure that benching Fabinho was a mistake, but we do need someone like him in the 2nd half, able to take a few steps forward with the ball and pick out a forward pass under pressure. Our midfield 3 has been too cautious and that starved the front 3.

It's funny how we spent 70 odd million on Keita and nobody is suggesting he come on. Shaq is a popular man

Do people really think that any midfield pair that could have been picked would have guaranteed us look better in midfield than them? That's a bit silly. They are a pretty decent team, and it's the weakest part of our team, one that is still a bit up in the air (pun intended).

Robertson further forward than I saw him all last half, its us making the first move and commiting more players to the attack it seems.

I think you know (we all know) that Milner, Henderson and even with Gini in there its our most pedestrian uncreative midfield three. Its small wonder the front three are having to come so deep, nothing is linking.

Would we definitely win with a Keita or Shaq in midfield? No, but we would at least be on the front foot.

This is a ‘dont lose’ midfield three. And its not working.

We are conceeding more unless we change this.
