Klopp bottled it. This was my fear pre-match, that he would go with 'tried and trusted' rather than clearly the better player for this game.
Agreed. Not for the first team if we are going to go on and win the PL or CL.
I think the game is very different if we play with ONE midfielder who passes QUICKER - Milner, Gini and Hendo were too slow in passing movement.
This doesn't work like it did last year because our front 3 isn't clicking like last year.

That was Man City at their best, they beat us fair and square. Our passing in their half is what lost us the game, too many passes slightly over hit, just behind players, it destroyed our momentum, I think we'd have won if not for that.
GK is right though, this is shit, but it's not that bad, all we've got to do is keep winning now, we are pretty good at that.

That's not a compliment, they always get ludicrously overpraised. I don't watch TV these days. I don't watch other games. I don't get remotely wrapped up in the hype. I barely care. Aside from our games. Then I see the other teams I've read about who are so incredibly wonderfully gloriously good and I think, 'Is that it???' I thought it tonight. Nothing they did scared me remotely. It was pretty even. They'll lose again.

He was good, but there were a lot of crosses that hit the first man. Especially towards the end when VVd was playing higher up the pitch
It's a fine line and I think City were far from their best because we won't see that against us, the two teams are so evenly matched. Had that ball on the line gone 2" further, had Salah or Mane put away their very good chances, had one of those goal-line / goalmouth scrambles gone in ... who knows.
This...his midfield selection was shit and basically said we will defend. Not a good thing this.. last time they beat us they got so much confidence they just fucking beat everyone. I hope this win gives them fuck all in confidence.

The better team won tonight and as I’ve just said to mates, you have to just get on with it, we weren’t too bad tonight, they are a REALLY good team and played at their best tonight. They deserved it, but that’s no slight on us.

He took Sterling out of the equation - almost completely. And a couple of crosses didn't make it, many more did and were cleared, and his most important one was the assist.

Most definitely, but they did defend well. It took 2 bits of brilliant individual skill (and a lovren) to create anything against us.
Just putting it out there so I can say I told you do when we don't. And no one will even care if we do. It's completely win win.
Attacking he was iffy at times, but defensively he was fantastic
