City's recent form: DLWLL

They're out of the Champions League, the FA Cup and now the League Cup.

I'm surprised there hasn't been talk of pressure on Mancini.
They're not out the league cup

Don't fucking jinx it!
If it's on BBC and Jules has Old Faithful out, then they are...
It's not and he won't.

Unfortunately.

The BBC are airing the Cardiff - Palace fixture instead. .
Ah, Fuck.

they have 90 minutes to score a single goal to take the game to extra time and two goals that would need us to reply with two goals. this tie is far from over.

Yeah, I was getting ahead of myself.

Point still stands, I'm surprised there hasn't been pressure on Mancini. I'm not saying it would be totally justified, but after they've spent half a billion or what ever it is, they should be doing a bit better.

squeaky bum time. I think a good tactic for us is to go looking for the first goal which will make it very difficult for city to come back and win the match.

Don't be a berry, Gerry. I think Kenny would prefer the Allow City to get a goal, sit back for a further 70 minutes before trying to get the winner in the last five minutes approach.

Makes much more sense given that we are at home.

you may joke but if city fail to score we are in the final so sitting back and defending that lead would be a perfectly acceptable tactic as well.

Fuck off Neil. You don't go out in any game at Anfield and intentionally sit on a lead for 90 minutes, you play football and not be so fucking worried about the opposition.

I think we should go out and try and score three early goals, so it's less likely City can come back in the second half. None of this one early goal shit for me.

hey, I'm not saying we should do it, I want us to go out and get the first goal. I was saying that it is a valid tactic as a clean sheet sees us in the final.

It might be because they're top of the league with a three point and goal difference cushion

I know, but they should have done better than they've done it past 5 games, they should have more points than they have, they should be further ahead of the likes of Spurs, and they should still be in the Champions League.

Many (not me) think that in 1989 Kenny did too against Aresenal, and then when we went 1-0 down held out for that score.

The reality, IMO, was that the tiredness & emotion of the previous weeks caught up with the team

Is Kompany out of the second leg? If that Savic joker plays we have a great chance.

Carroll has got to be fucking joking. At current form he's the worst striker ever who has played for us.

Still Sean Dundee

Probably cost 34.5 million less tho
