Atkinson is a massive fucking knob.
He's like the policeman who pulls you over for going 5 mph over the speed limit and gives you a ticket and while he's writing the ticket another car flies by going 30 over and he just watches with a stupid look on his face and does nothing.

I thought Can was good. Our worst player has been Sterling or Moreno. I have some sympathy for Moreno because he's getting no help. Allen and Henderson were poor but improved a bit.
It's great when it works but in a game like this I don't know why we get so dead set on trying the impossible pass or the overly intricate exchange in tight space.

He's having a poor game - yes. But this is very harsh - he's normally excellent under pressure.
Gerrard would at least provide a little physicality against Fellaini as well.
He's got old man strength.

I'm only talking about this half. The ball bounces up into the air whenever he tries to control it.
I hate it when we play like this. It reminds a little of the West Ham game at the start of the season. Everyone looks lost, ponderous, lacking in any quality, weak and lazy. I hate to say it but this game is crying out for a Gerrard from a few years ago. There could be life in the old dog yet. Bring him on!

Atkinson is truly awful and has been for a very long time. The best comment one can make on the current dismal standard of English refereeing is that that waster is at or near the top of the refereeing tree.
I can't see Johnson defending better against Mata.
United started very strongly as we looked very nervous .. especially Moreno who I had highlighted as a weak spot in the match pre-amble, preferring Johnson. However despite all the United early possession there was barely a threat bar the superbly taken goal. Liverpool, despite their poor start, picked up substantially over the last 15 mins of the half and should have gone in level ... it can't get much easier for Lallana than only the keeper to beat from 10m, a very poor miss.
If Liverpool continue in that vein then I can see us coming back as United seem content to try to pick Rooney out. Hopefully BR will yank Moreno for Johnson at HT and Henderson can step up, he has had a shite first half, as he did against Swansea and Blackburn before turning up in the 2nd half. Then this game is far from over.

Its not just the defending but the general passing.
