In terms of running with the ball and passing, is there anyone young not named KDB we could buy?

Only young player in the league with KDB potential/attributes I see right now is Odegard.

Is there anyone else in any other leagues?

And I don't see it from Bellingham either (he's more of runner/dribbler than passer the ball).

Cos we need this sort of player.

City acting like its a big deal that their £400m bench team beats ours. The only reason the rivalry is currently relevant is because Klopp has had the capacity and tenacity to compete with them, otherwise it would be the embarrassing walkover it should be when you've got Phillips and Ox coming off the bench trying to save one team, while Grealish, Silva and Foden casually stroll on for minutes for the other.

Nunez missed chances, but its all by the by, they have match winners in reserve, we take punts and buy crocks for relative peanuts, risk signings, hopeful signings, and we still manage to always give them a game.

Ps someone should put their boots through a few skulls there, horrible self absorbed cunts.

Positives: Kelleher (taking this for granted at this point), Matip, Phillips (how come Klopp rates him below Gomez I'll never know), Fabinho, Darwin's movement. I thought Ox did well after coming on too, the pass for the goal was sublime and his movement was clever.

Negatives: Gomez looks like a Championship defender in this form, Thiago meh, Robbo not great, Milner injured, Elliott, Carvalho and Bajcetic didn't impress, Darwin's shooting. And no glimpse of Ramsey and Doak.

Overall, City looked better than us as a team, but defensively vulnerable. Without Diaz and Jota we lack quality in attack, need to buy in January.

Kinda hard to find that type of player. Easier to find a KDB stopper

Gomez was so bad That he looked like he never played football before.

The worrying thing is that we just look bereft of ideas. There is no coherent plan in this team, just lots of square pegs in round holes.

As said, we need to buy a proper player or two in Jan because we can’t keep relying on the same ol players who just don’t have it in them.

We havent got anyone to buy us or invest in the club which was because fsg cant afford to invest in transfers to keep us competitive.
So can't see that changing anytime soon

Again buy players with what money? Club hant been sold or new investors brought in...

Nunez is a spazzy fucking donkey. Thiago played like a 70 year old. Salah should’ve owned that side and was nonexistent for 89 minutes. Robbo went on full on mong mode. Gomez was just Gomez who shouldn’t play for us ever again. Matip was a 50p head. Milner looked every bit a retiree.

We were punished over and over again by crosses which wouldn’t be as much of an issue with Konate and VVD in the side. Add a Bellingham and proper forward in the side and we’d go up so many levels.

I don’t get why Henderson and Nunez got minutes but TTA was rested. Makes no sense.

So, Kelleher is brilliant, isn't he? How much longer before we have to start worrying that he'll want to leave in search of game time?

After this season is my guess
Was just about to say this.. looks like Davies is also highly rated, so to me Kelleher will probably be sold at the end of the season if an offer comes in.

Would love a buy back inserted into a deal though.

Mate, you just listed half the team. If half the team can no longer compete with the most complete, best funded team in Europe, its because repeatedly competing with a better funded side of their magnitude, is unsustainable. Its been coming. We're lucky we've got Klopp and have put up a consistent fight, and punched above our weight, no one else would have. No quick January fixes, or Trent will solve competing with a side that can bring on Stones, Grealish, Silva and Foden to give them minutes, while we were hoping Ox and Natt Phillips could drag us out the shit.

Absolutely and that’s why I have said for years our strategy has been wrong. We even went against our own MO which gave us that successful period. We’ve made some absolutely crazy decisions which explains why we are allowing people behind the scenes to leave. Lots of the squad should’ve been moved on when we knew there was diminishing returns. Then spent that money on serious buys. Not spunking money away on Thiago and Nunez.

The full-back was set to be involved in the encounter until sickness ruled him out, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also suffering from illness in the build-up to the game.

"We thought Trent was available but then he got ill, so that is what we have to wait for," Klopp said of Alexander-Arnold.

Lively game, great to watch for a neutral.

Thought we were poor other than Kelleher and Nunez sharpness and play (bar that composure in front of goal) , everyone culpable of giving the ball away too much....defensively a mess, Gomez needs to be moved on for his own good. Milner jesus christ why the fuck are we still seeing this guy nevermind at fucking RB.

We failed to see the warning signed with KDB, you just can't give him time on the ball to put a ball in the box yet we gave him the freedom of the park. Unacceptable.

Midfield 3 just didn't gel at all which is to be expected as they've never played together in a competitive game before.....probably even in training. Still think wee Harvey is out his depth at this level.

End of the day it's the Carabao Cup, doubt anyone will lose much sleep over it. Boxing day is where it really resumes.

That last goal really fucked me off, you've got Henderson stuck between two players taking the corner, six of our players marking one city player in the box, and a few city players attacking the back post unmarked. KDB puts in a great cross, but our set up was awful.

Kevin is a good keeper and could do nothing about any of the goal but every save he made tonight was an expected save. People get a bit carried away about stuff...

Our best team is:

Trent, Konate, VVD and Robbo
Milner, Hendo and Curtis, when he's fit
Diaz, Jota and Salah, when they're fit

That might piss people off but it's the state of play.

Anything else is making do.

Nah - no way is that midfield our best, even accounting for current form (of which Curtis has none).

Thiago & Fabs have been gash this season - so I’m hoping they have a better second half.

Harvey is still inconsistent, but he’s getting game time which will help him in the long run.

When the alternative is an 83 years old James Milner who you know is going to get run ragged and end up going off injured as a result....people need to think with their brain not with their heart.....dicks....vagina's.......mangina's......
