Also looked like it came at a cost to City, Ake and possibly Laporte look injured

Some much needed match fitness in a bizzare game that felt like a glorified pre season friendly played in Thailand. Dont really care about going out. Given the fixture congestion this is the cup that can get to fuck.
Several players were off the pace and needed this game. Not sure we’ll be ready for Villa but the inclusion of Alisson and Virgil will help.

That’s the understatement of the year!
We've got our own problems though.
This attack is unconvincing, the midfield even more so, and some of the players we are bound to see until they get injured again are just a waste of time compared to developing anyone else. There's so many dead ends.
