Tuesday night we travel to the Etihad stadium where they have been unbeaten in yonks.
Anyone give us a prayer?

The one thing I did just notice was that they are playing Sunday night and then again against us 24hours later AND then they have the Manchester Derby at the weekend in the FAcup.

We obviously play Oldham and that is on Friday, meaning we have sacrificed a gap after the city game for one before it.
So will two days extra rest mean anything or are Citeh too strong with their squad anyway?

We'll win, this is the time when it all clicks.

That's if Gerrard starts ahead of Adam, anyway.

Reina
Johnson Skrtel Agger Enrique
Downing Henderson Gerrard Bellamy
Suarez Carroll

7-0

[/quote]I think their team selection v Sunderland will reveal a lot. They could leave Silva, Aguero and Balotelli out and still play Nasri, Johnson and Dzeko in the forward places. Likewise Toure for de jong and Barry for Milner.
Id love Kompany to get a knock to be honest.....or Hart.

Yeah, they're a weaker prospect without Kompany, no doubt about it. That said, he hated playing against Suarez.

The big issue for us is whether we play Bellamy and Stevie. We should do but with concerns over their ability to play so much football, who knows?

----------------Reina-----------------
Johnson--Skrtel-Agger--Enrique-
----------Spearing-Adam-----------
Downing-----Gerrard-----Bellamy
---------------Suarez----------------

suarez isn't banned for this game.

the last game we played lucas dominated the midfield and I don't think spearing is capable of that so back the midfield and make it difficult for city to ply through us. of course that means dropping carroll so we can play a 5 man midfield. oh well.

Are the toure brothers off to the African nations this week?

"can be called up two weeks before the tournament kicks off on January 21"

Might miss the League Cup matches but not the league one.

"I am disappointed only because we play 1 January and 3 January and Liverpool play 30 December and then 3 January against us. I think that at this moment this is not correct," the Manchester City manager said. "I'm not happy with this situation because two days [of rest] in this moment when we play every three days is not correct. Sometimes the fixtures can [be] better because to play one game after four days and for us after 48 hours can make a difference."

Mancini's rant earlier in the wk.

We've been bigging up the fact we play well against top teams far too much, so we'll lose, it'll be a hard loss to swallow as well.

Adam has suffered the most from Lucas' absence.

He's been pretty poor since Wigan IMO, most of his set pieces can't beat the wall, and he's become sloppy in possession. I had hoped him playing next to Spearing would help, but it didn't seem to last night.

we're dissapointed that we haven't been able to spend 500 million pounds on our squad, you fucking nonce.

I'll watch their match with Sunderland with great interest. After the results today, City may feel under pressure to go out and win to stretch out a lead, who knows. I think we have to start Gerrard to have some hope of winning but I doubt he's ready for such an important game.

There was a part of me today that was saying that I would rather lose this game than watch Man United win the title again, but given their result against Blackburn - I hope we win, and I think we just may do it.

We've only got two more league games left where in which we will be favourites to lose, this is one of them.

I'd be made up if we manage to get a point, though i can't see it happening personally.

I think this will be a tight game, especially with previous game fresh in the memory. My bet would be for a 1-1, odds currently 13/5 or thereabouts.

XI vs. Sunderland:

Hart; Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Kolarov; De Jong, Barry; A Johnson, Yaya Toure, Nasri; Dzeko.

Balotelli not even on the bench. Richards, Clichy, Milner, Silva, Aguero all not starting.
